I've had their CD What's The Story (Morning Glory) for a pretty long time now. Of the 10 legitmate songs on there, I'd say I really like 8 of them. I just went out and bought Definitely Maybe, which is also very good. Does anyone else recommend any of their other music?

What's the story and Definitely Maybe are the only 2 remotely good Oasis albums,

If you like Oasis you may like other britpop bands like blur, pulp, suede and supergrass
    Hammer & Sickle - Karacharovo

And I drank it strait down.

Gotta love Wonderwall. Also, what is the song that's a part of the soundtrack of FIFA 2006? It sounded pretty good to my ears.

Lyrics? I could probably name it if you gave me some.

Their album Be Here Now (still the fastest-selling UK album and one of the UK top sellers) is my personal favorite. Some people love it, some people don't like it (Noel thinks it's shite, Liam loves it); you should give a few of the tracks a listen (D'You Know What I Mean, My Big Mouth, Stand by Me, Don't Go Away, and All Around the World are some of the best tracks but all of the album is excellent. Their newest album Don't Believe the Truth is good as well, but I personally like Heathen Chemistry. Just go to allmusic.com or something and listen to their (legal!) samples.

I have Don't Believe the Truth and Morning Glory
I have Definitely Maybe, What's the Story, Be Here Now, Heathen Chemistry and Don't Believe the Truth.

The track on FIFA 2006 is Lyla of their newest album 'dont belive the truth' which is no where nearly as good as the first two albums, on which most of the songs used stolen beatles melodies.

Chapagne supernova is better that wonderwall.
As both a Beatles fan and an Oasis fan I can say, Oasis never just ripped off the Beatles' music and melodies. They learned from the Beatles, but they didn't rip them off.

I like Blur too, but Oasis's music is a lot more meaningful than Blur's more "fun" music.

I'm gonna have to agree with you here. While Wonderwall is good, Champagne Supernova is the best Oasis song I've heard and I think it probably cracks my all time top 5. The three guitar solo is simply unmatched in its greatness.

Have you heard Beetlebum? pretty meaningful as are the rest of the later albums (blur 13 think tank)

Oasis only seem to be good at slower songs imo.

No way. Parklife completely lacks a driving unity to the album which all of Oasis' albums have. Parklife sounds like a bunch of disjointed stoner carnival trips.

Parklife is a great album, it is disjointed in some places i admit, however it has alot more energy and alot better songs than all of Oasis' albums have. (I personaly prefer modern life is Rubbish)

Oasis lacks any unity the only two original members of the band are the monobrow twins Noel and Liam.

Bah! I hate Oasis. Over-rated pap. Liam Gallagher ****es me off no end. He thinks he's some kind of musical god...when in reality he's just a member of a band who's seen its better days and refuses to **** off. Or write some decent music. In my opinion of course!

See, I think the lyrics are terrible! They lack the sheer depth that other writers can achieve. They're too simplistic lyrically for my tastes. e.g. The Importance of Being Idle- lyrics are terrible in my opinion yet everyone loves the song.

Lyrics by themselves don't make a song or a band. Sure, they may be a bit repetitive in some places, but their instrumentals more than make up for it (a la champagne supernova)> Plus, something about Liam's voice is eerily relaxing or peaceful.

I thought Wonderwall was a good song, so last year I thought it would be a good idea to play it for my girlfriend on the guitar. I thought I should sing it too, and you know what, that was the most retarded thing I have ever done.

She laughed in my face as soon as I finished it. She didn't cut me off while I was embarassing myself, she let me play the whole damn song. She waited until the very end, keeping as straight of a face as possible. And when I finally finished my performance, she laughed as hard as she could. She said it my crappy singing and amateurish guitar playing that made her laugh, but I know it was the lyrics. It had to be. I will forever hate Oasis.

I've only got What's the Story (Morning Glory). As a band, they are brilliant, but I feel that people treaded a bit too far when they proclaimed that they were the next Beatles.

Hey, they may be arrogant, but they make great music. Definitely Maybe is pretty good too (and cheap). You might wanna check that out.

Definitely Maybe is a good rock album, Morning Glory sucks compared to it, but is still pretty good.
