Can't unpack files?

Hello all,

I'm running Total War Medieval II patch 1.2 (Cracked, if that changes anything) and I have come to an impass: I can't unpack files.
So, what I would like to do is edit my character names. I discover I must edit "descr_names", and to do that must unpack TWM2. Fair enough. Except when I do the unpack-all.bat, it opens CDE and everything is fine... Until about 20 000 of 36 000 files are extracted, when it turns off. I have no idea why? It did leave the 20 000 extracted files, but there isn't the Geography ones, or descr_names or the "text" folder. Why so? Why does it turn off?
