Making Custom Characters in Campaign

Hello, I was trying to figure out a way to adjust a character's name and stats (I'm sorta a narcissist so I wanted to name him after myself and make him awesome) but it keeps crashing. I know it has to do with the descr_strat file and I tried replacing any instance of the old name with the new one but no avail. So can anyone walk me through the process of making a virtual and fantastical version of myself on the game board? Thanks
