Well, where to begin? This all started awhile ago when I started a new Shogun 2 campaign, but during my session I am receiving some random crashes that are annoying because they tend to occur while a battle is being conducted, whether it be naval or land. What happens is the game will freeze, a black screen will appear, but I can still see the Shogun cursor. The only way to get rid of the black screen is to ctrl alt del, and then end the process. Even today, after uninstalling Chrome, disabling my Anti-Virus software (Kaspersky), and then on top of that I ran memtest all day thinking the problem may lie with my ram, but I was still unsuccessful in finding a solution and my game crashed during a land battle with about 4.5 thousand units. After that crash, I as usual ctrl alt del'd, terminated the process, and then checked my GPU(70c) and CPU(54c) temps. I open the application up once again, and in the main menu I receive yet another crash, but this time my computer became unresponsive to the point where I was forced to hit the reset button on my case.
I should also mention I have uninstalled the game, verified the cache multiple times, deleted my preferences file, deleted the blob file, and ran the vcredist application like I read in a post on here. After doing that I started up a game, but about an hour and a half later I got a crash during a naval battle. Not quite sure where, or what to do from here. It feels like a hardware problem, but this stuff never happens when I play Far Cry 3, or The Witcher 2.
Here are my Computer specs:
Windows 7 64bit
i7 3770k
gtx 690
Corsair Vengeance 16gb (2x8) DDR3 1866 *** I have them at 1600 though***
Samsung 840 Pro 256GB SSD
Corsair HX Series HX 850watt
ASUS Maximus V Formula
Anyone who can help me it would be much appreciated
