Default How does this mod help

I've been modding and playing RTW for about as long as it's been out. I decided to try this mod the other day, and I have to say that it's so bad I think i'm going to have to reinstall just to get rid of it. I'm using the version 1.8 of your mod. I fired up a game with Macedon and initiated a battle with the romans where I happened to be badly outnumbered in infantry. For reasons retarded on a level beyond my understanding, your formation mod forced my infantry into a double line of sorts (two groups of Phalanx behind my center, I suppose for reinforcement) leaving my flanks pathetically guarded. I tried to pause and correct this, but insanely, nothing I did could cancel out this ridiculous implementation. I even grouped my units and tried to use the default formations just to get them into something less damaging than your formation forced upon me. Why on earth would you do this? Is there some way for me to cancel out your formation? What if I want to make my own formation on the fly to suit a certain terrain? Why do I have to use your formation anytime I move the bulk of my army? Is there any way around this?

And version 1.8 or this mod? DarthMod 8.0 is out now, and the standalone DarthFormations mod 16.0. Im slightly worried by the fact your macedonians are in a double line of phalanxes as that does not happen with the latest version of his formations.

You can only get a double line playing as the Greek City States and then only on the LH flank.

And are you so lazy that you can't even be bothered to change the formation before the battle? If that's so then it's not Darthmod's fault that you lose all the time.

First jjca 1.8 i dont understand where got that from. Also DarthMod 8.0 on 1.5, make sure you have it on latest CA patch. If your using standalone version 16 as lusted said that is not a Darthmod problem.

hmmm, sounds like you hade your troops in the hands of AI but I never herd of it being nearly that bad, I have watched many battle's with my troops under AI control.
please use 8.0 with the new formations before you pass judgment.

The point is that before battle I had them in a custom set up as I knew I was going to be outflanked. But when I went to move the entire army at once they automatically moved into a formation from Darth formations, refusing to stay in the custom formation I had put them in pre-battle.

have them in a group... that will keep the formation you gave them and it works for me.

That's not a feature of DM, sweetheart. There's no way Darth could change the basic user interface.

When a group is created, it saves the positions of the units. If you change any groups, it will default back to a Shift-# formations (most commonly single-line).

Select your whole army while they are in position and no groups exist. Put them all in one group. You can then move that group as a whole, in formation. Drag out the yellow arrows to see if it has remembered your custom setup. If not, leave them put, ungroup them and re-group them (as I said, the position is saved when the group is created).

And try to be a little more thoughtful in the future. Everyone on this forum will agree that DarthMod's gameplay is peerless, or very nearly so.
