when I play as the britons ( in campign or custom) durning battles, the screen goes wild and the mouse lags the scenery rapidly shifts and It that the camera is trying to go past the map.

Most be problem on your end, reinstall windows media codec or reinstall RTW with 1.5/1.6 with darthmod 8

it seems that the british cariots(includeing the general) are placed outside the allowed area during the deployment phase, which causes the camera to go crazy. could this be a problem with the formations?

This problem happens to me -but only when I have two or more Briton generals (Chariots) on the field in the same army. The commanding general always starts outside the deployment area and the games crashes after juddering around for a couple of minutes.

You can get round it by only having one general in each army - but of course it can catch you out if you have a 'coming of age' and forget to remove the new general.

I tryed the new formations (I like them) but it doesn't stop the described problem.
