Really need help with Rome: Total War Gold Edition!

Hello. I just recently made an acc. so I may possibly figure this out.

Now I know and I bet you all know the troubles with Rome total war, ( Especially Barb. Invasion) With windows 7x 64 bit. Well.. I really need to know how to run it, if I buy it.

I really want to try out Rome, possibly Midieval total war if its availiable on amazon to download.

So, I want to download Rome: Total War Gold edtition ( Barb invasion, The game)

But, Im not confident enough to risk spending money to screw up my cp trying to run it. Heres my facts,

OS: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium Edition Service Pack 1 (build 7601), 64-bit
Where Im buying: Amazon.com
Other req. : Im good on everything else from ram to video card.

So, heres my question. Will I be able at all to download the game? And if I can can I run it? If I can on both of those, If someone can please give me a step by step operation to attempt to run the game. ( I read resolution changes (Dont know how) Change compatibility to Windows XP, ( Usually doesn't work).

Blabbity bla bla. Im not to worried with the game itself, mostly just the add on pack is what is giving most people trouble. But again, If i can run it at all, PLEASE someone help me do it. Thank you and good day.

Did you just download it like that or did you have to do extra labor? Like screen reso, moving files. Anything?
