Which expansion for Rtw2 would you prefer?

I have searched the forum but i havent found a similar poll about potential expansions for the upcoming and most wanted Rome 2 total war.

I intentionally put expansion tittles that are in coherence with the epoch and the fighting styles and game play that Rome 2 will engulf, so dont post things such as "why there is no China total war expansion" or "India total war expansion" because it has nothing to do with the environment of the Roman empire the era and the historical periods that are a logical choice within the geographical and historical margins of the period in question.

ΕDIT: Feel free to suggest anything that you think that i have forgotten to mention as potential choices, for eg the Rise of Rome and the period from the conquest of italy up to the first Punic war (because i think that the second punic war is the beginning of the vanilla campaign)

A remake of Barbarian Invasion with greater historical accuracy would be great. So would a Kingdoms style campaign pack.

I really liked the Barbarian Invasion Campaign, but i hated the smaller number of Provinces like in Empire. I generally liked the Idea of the Alexander Campaign, but i hated the small size of the contend. The 150 Turn till Alexander died was totally against what Total War is for me. I allways liked the larger number of Turn and to develope an Empire which exists for hundrets of years. Thats i liked Rome, Medieval and Empire Total War and why i didn't liked Nappy and Shogun. The one had no family three and the other had one, but until my sons became of age the game was over, specially in the Fall of the Samurai.

Personally i would prefer an Diadochy Wars Expansion with the Focus on the east from Italy and South Gaul to India. Excluding Spain, Mauretania ect.

The diadochoi wars were my own choice as well, not that i wouldnt be happy with any of the other expansions mentioned but i think the diadochoi in particular deals with a larger time scale larger geographical area, larger clashes and some interesting characters like Demetrius Poliorkitis for eg.(and i would be something new in comparison with Alexander for eg)

We don't really know how many years the campaign will cover. Hell, it's possible Barbarian expansion will be "in" the vanilla game, if it's really long.

Out of those options i'd like to see Alexander 2. What i want most of all is a "Africa-map pack" that unlocks the entire African continent, but i know it's not going to happen.

If they made an expansion, I would love if; rather than simply create a new campaign, they EXPANDED upon the vanilla game, adding more units, more factions, models, traits, ancilleries, more game details, tweaks, settlements, optimization, new game elements etc etc.

So that you were even more capable of shaping your own history!

Yeh - this is because nowadays they do call them DLC's instead of expansions and i could
swear that i've seen a lot of people discussing about what they could get later for more
money instead of asking for it to be straight in the vanilla release.

Right here with you. Barbarian invasion remake! I had fun with the last one, my only qualm was that Rome historically and in-game destroyed diversity of the factions. But hey, that's history!

If CA follows the Shogun 2 model (which I feel worked particularly well), then I imagine we'll see an Early Republic expansion (perhaps 500 BCE - 300 BCE, or something to that effect), and then a Late Empire (à la Barbarian Invasion).

That being said, an Early Republic campaign could go one of two ways:

First, it could consist solely of an Italian map, and simply recount Rome's growing dominance over its neighboring states/tribes.

Conversely, the DLC could take place in the Eastern Mediterranean (think Italy, Greece, Anatolia, Egypt, et cetera), and place a great deal of emphasis on the Golden Age of Greece, in addition to the rise of Rome.

Well, as a standalone expansion a BI2 should do the trick - it is the one that deserves this the most because R2 is built on the ascension of Rome so an expansion of the game that has the same depth and magnitude in terms of gameplay only a BI game can deliver. But, I would very much love to see a DLC campaign (like RotS was) concerning the Greek-Persian wars which can be built in stages to include the involvement of Athens in the Ionian revolt up to Alexander and his great campaign and conquest of legend.

Rise of Rome would be an awesome campaign. Another would be the Hannibal War or the conquest of Spain(it spanned a total of almost two centuries), which would be similar to the Peninsular campaign of NTW in its scope. the wars of the Successors seem a good choice, but you will need a very big map for these, so probably not.

I would vote for a Peloponessian war, although I would prefer an expansion based on the second Punic War.
What would be really awesome is if the results of your expansion(provided you play it with the same faction) are used in your main campaign.
