    Default New PC

This may need to be moved to tech.

This is what im looking at:

    Intel Core i5 3750 3.4GHz Quad Processor
    750W PSU
    Radeon 7770 1GB graphics card
    Asus P8z77-v Pro 32GB DDR3 supported Motherboard
    1TB hardrive

    a) Is this good enough to play Shogun 2?
    b) What settings would i be able to play on?
    c) If you notice any of them i could improve for less than £50 or so let me know!

Get at least 2GB graphic card.

Yeah, you definitely need a 2mb graphics card. If you cant find any extra money, then maybe choose a smaller hardrive, say 500gb.

The CPU is very good (I have it myself) and easy to overclock, which you need to do if you want to play S2 at highest. I took mine from 3.4 to 4.4 ghz. Your GPU may hold you back from playing on ultra though...perhaps high/medium.
    Get to the trireme!

Too much powerful CPU compared to the GPU
Disclaimer: the post above is way way prealpha, the final version will be way better than this.

You don't need a 750W PSU. A 600W PSU would be more than enough, even 500W would still be fine unless you plan on going dual graphics card later. Not that the wattage numbers make that much difference in price, but still.

Unless you have non-gaming needs for that CPU, you should consider going for a somewhat cheaper model and getting a better GPU. I'd recommend a Geforce 660 GTX, or if you really can't afford that then a Radeon 7850.

You might want to get a small SSD, it does help with performance even if you only keep the OS on it and games on a normal HDD.

Thanks for the replies, this is what i've come out with in the end:

    AMD bulldozer fx 6100
    Asrock 970 extreme 3 motherboard
    8gb kingston ddr3 1333 (2x4gb)
    500GB hardrive SATA
    Nvidia GTX650Ti 2048mb Graphics Card
    700W PSU

I went for 700W over 600W simply thinking it would last longer (could be wrong as my knowledge of computer components is poor).
As a final build (and paid for - £540 with OS incl.) hows it looking?

Ah mine is i7 2600k @ stock speed [My CPU is degraded lol] with GTX 570

Run the game pretty perfect at maximum setting, don't expect to see huge armies on screen though but standard 1 vs 1 or 2 vs 2 is fine.
Its easy to make war with others, its never been easy when we need a peace.
