    Default Garbasardar For Opifex

I think that perhaps this is an honour long overdue:

    This nomination is for Garbarsardar
    Nominated by: Gigagaia
    Seconded by: Spartan, Belisarius, Asterix

To qualify as Opifex, the nominee must meet the following Criteria:

    * Served the Total War Center or Total War Community with exceptional input to any of the boards or mods in any capacity other than staff.

Is there any doubt that Garb has served our community with exceptional input? He is likely the most capable person of marshalling the Curia into doing something produtive, and along with another member, led the exiles back after the hacker attacks.
But Garb also has contributed many essays to the Script.

I am sure there is more, but I think that needless to say, few people have Matched Garb's contributions to the development of the common community and curial sides of TWC and the development of its culture.

    What say you all?

He made the CC better and because of him, I read it more. Yes! It isnt a modding only rank.
Well, if I, Belisarius, the Black Prince, and you all agree on something, I really don't think there can be any further discussion.

I would like to see a statement first where he distances himself from the role he played in the trial of tBP. I would like to see such a statement from all the CdeC members involved (in fact all who knew about it and kept silent) before I support anyone of them for any honor. The tBP trial was dirty, secretive and against everything TWC stands for.

Erm, Im nor sure about this one really, just what exactly has he done to serve the community THAT much? But I suppose he did help out a lot before he gets nominated of Opifex, its just that I cannot remember anything before April this year TWCwise. Anyway, havent seen Garb in a while.

He's on holiday I think. EDIT: JP beat me

I'm not really sure about this... he's probably done more than I'm aware of though: "led the exiles back after the hacker attacks" for example.

Despite him being my patron, I am not so sure... Given the absolute original purpose of this, I did not conceive Garb's contribution (which I concede are collosall) to be in the right ball park for Opifex. Having said that, I do not object and given the wording of the Opifex stuff, he certainly qualifies.

Muizer - Garb had every right to bring to the CdeC his supsicions - the fact that the CdeC agreed that there was a case to be heard speaks volumes. Garb is a crusader within this Community, it must be said, but I have never seen anything but honour from him.

The tBP trial was dirty, secretive and against everything TWC stands for.
Unfounded allegations are also against everything TWC stands for. The transcripts have been released. There is nothing to hide.

I support this measure mainly because I remember him as being a solid community advocate besides his efforts to reunite the community after being manipulated nefariously by some who put their personal interests ahead of the common community.

Additionally for having the courage to pursue actions against a iniquitous individual who with the help of a very few, but rather strident group of minions has repeatedly cause vast amount of strife and turmoil in a seemingly endless cycle egomaniacal interests and dirty politics over the pst few years have lead me to conclude he is one of the few that is of the mettle that such a rank is supposed to honor.

That must have been before my time. Care to enlighten us about this heroic deed? Who was this iniquitous individual and who were his minions that Garb saved us from?

Just paraphrasing one of your colleagues. Anyway, yes the transcripts were released but only after considerable pressure was exerted and to date I haven't heard many CdeC'ers admit it was wrong to have a secret trial. If it is any consolation I'm not holding that against Garb in particular, but I do think it is important enough an issue to raise in this discussion.

Upon reflection, I would like to second Gigagaia's proposal. It needs somone from the CdeC, I believe. His posts and articles are the stuff of legend and his attemtps with the Fight Club will always endear him to me.

I just somehow don't think that his reputation is a coincidence or a fraud. do you ?

Oh no, he is a good poster and much of his rep is well deserved. But good enough that his posts alone make him worthy of Opifex? No. Show me posts that changed the community forever, and I will see your point. But people, stop jumping on the Garbisgreat bandwagon, like you are doing now (not just you Archer).

I second that. I don't support the motion for making Garbasardar Opifex.

Garb is a good poster it is true, and probably deserves the Opifex rank, but to be honest I think his reputation has become more of a game called, "Lets see how high we can jack Garb's rep." This hasnt been true of late really, but especially seemed the case during the first few months of the reputation system implementation. Not to send mixed messages here, I do appreciate what Garb has done and think he should be rewarded for it. I support him for Opifex.
