Not bad read , read it yesterday. it says the demo possibly will be a historical battle.
I'm sure the modder will be able to make some "interesting changes" to the demo :tooth:
Back when we had the RTW demo(That was crazy, I remember someone have to post a BT for everyone on the forum to get it), there were some great mods allow us to unlock units, trying different battlefields and create different battles.....
wouldnt CA be ****** if that happend?

Well, not really, it wasn't anything like a full game, it just let you play with the demo a little bit more.Originally Posted by philip augustus

Yes a demo!!!!I hope it doesn't kill my computer shoudn't. :hmmm: hope its a good historical battle.
No because it happened with the RTw and BI demos and they didn't complain. They were just small mods for the demo.

Ah yes the Rodeo mod I think it was called.
Made the demo last alot longer![]()
Why would they be angry? If CA didn't want something to be available, modded or not, they just wouldn't include the code and files of it in the demo.
BTW, great article. Glad you posted this, I hadn't seen this. Come to think of it, I never see any of these articles first. Lol, I feel so uninformed!![]()

Well a demo was likely to be announced, the RTW one made me buy the game.

The RTW demo was August 04, but the game also came out in September. So I guess maybe a demo in September, October?
And the Rodeo modding unlocked nothing, it simply took everything that was given in the demo, and allowed you to create custom battles with it. In the original RTW, you could only play as Carthage and the house of Julii. Rodeo opened up the Gauls and the Senate to make any type of battles you could on the demo maps with the demo units. Seems perfectly fine.
Hell yes!
I want a taste of Medieval.
Cool i dont care about the demo though i'd rather just wait for the whole game.Unless i get really restless then i'll download.
I can't wait. Although I do hope they include some campaign elements in the demo, I know that probably won't happen. Ah well, can't have everything.

Sounds good to me, i cant wait for a demo, even if its a poor demo at least ill know whether my computer can play the game![]()
Hopefully there will be a mod for the demo to expand it or something like BI where they released a demo and then another demo with more historic battles in it, that was cool.
Im going to guess that the demo will include a battle with the English and French, and maybe a training/introduction mission
Thanks for the link, it's nice to know a demo will be released.

At least the demo may give us an idea of possible upgrades needed.
In the interview he stated that the Polygon/texture count is at least twice that of Romes.
Yeah the demo is a nice way to see what your computer is made of.
Of course you might have to remember that the demo might not be optimised.
In RTW the demo wasn't optimised beyond what it needed to be which made the game into a slideshow when using the rodeo mod.
