    Default Kingdoms 1.5 patching blues

    Hi,

I, poor sucker, bought Kingdoms from D2D, and failed to notice there was a 1.5 patch before D2D closed and I got handed over to Gamefly. The D2D 1.5 patch is nowhere to be found and Gamefly offers only a 1.4 download of Kingdoms and no 1.5 patch.

And of course, the retail patch 1.5 doesn't work with a D2D version of Kingdoms.

As a result, I'm unable to update to 1.5 at all.

So if someone is sitting out there with a copy of the D2D 1.5 patch (there was, I belive, a zip verison of the file), if that person could find it in their heart to put the file out for download, or show me where it can be found, that would be a great and noble thing.

Contact Sega support with all available info about this D2D/Gamefly business.
Hopefully they'll be nice with a Steam activation code.

I have contacted SEGA support, so far they only pointed me to a dead link at Gamefront. But woulld downloading 1.5 from Steam work? I thought that'd be yet another version of the patch?

Steam's patch is the full game patched.

Have you informed them that their idea of a link is dead on arrival?

Yes, but it was very recently, let's see if they can come up with something else.

I'm a bit puzzled, one would think that the developers of the game should have stored every patch ever released for any of their games, for archive purposes if nothing else.

Of course, that would be CA, and not SEGA, but still, one of them should really have that patch in storage somewhere.

We almost didn't get the patch until the players inundated their website with morethan a few hundred whatfors, half of them deleted for flaming amongst other things.

It would make sense but I'm not the one making those decisions. It could be Sega's doing because they are paying the bills.

I see. They insist that the link provided works, putting it in here to see if does for anyone else - it doesn't for me anyway.

It works for me. It's a 2.2gb download.
Try it using Windows Firewall and Microsoft Security Essentials instead of what you are using.

I'm using Windows firewall and AVG, so I guess it must be AVG preventing me from downloading them. I'll try with a download manager, and then go thank the SEGA crew profusely.

And thanks to you too Irishron!

Hm, I'm logged in at Gamefront, I click the link, the usual open/save/save as... opens but the file size says 345 bytes, not 2,2 gigs and whatever I click, nothing happens. I've even temporarily disabled AVG, but no luck. Don't know what I'm doing wrong...

AVG, especially the free version, you have to uninstall it for too many things and this sounds like another one.

This is so frustrating. I have uninstalled AVG and installed Microsoft Security Essentials. Restarted the computer. STILL i cannot download from that link! I have created an account with Gamefront, am logged in. Still, nothing. All I get is a window to choose between Open/Save/Save as... and whatever I choose I get a browser window with "Blank" in the adress.

When I try to use a download manager, I get the message "Access denied, wrong password or login". What am I missing (I am logged in at gamefront while doing this, BTW). And I've tried adding my login and password to the download properties in the download manager.

    What browser are you using?
I am using Chrome and as soon as i click the link you provided it just starts to download straight away with no buttons to click e.c.t.
Try using a different browser. Also change your anti-virus, I had AGV and then changed to Avast it's much better and I haven't had any problems with it, compared to AGV which also didn't prevent a few viruses that i got.

    Hope this helps.

Here is a link to the avast website:

Thanks JRR, but I already killed AVG.

I have found out the reason it doesn't work though. I'm in Sweden, which is a blocked country on Gamefront (says so on their support page). So I'm screwed unless someone can DL the file and put it up somewhere else.

    Drat.

Log out of there, then try it anonymously.
I just clicked on the link you posted and it wanted to download. No logging in first.

Yeah, that was the first thing I tried, same result. I created an account and logged in only when that failed (thought it might be the reason, but apparently not).

Tell Sega you're blocked by Gamefront and why. I want to read their response.

Mate, you haven`t seen their blacklist of countries, here it is:
    http://www.gamefront.com/file-hosting-faq/

Half of Europe is there, lol.
I started hosting some mods on my site cause of this, for those who can`t download anymore from GF.
What has gone wrong with them?

American, French, Israeli and British government's ILLEGAL aggression against the Syrian people, without any proof for chemical attacks in Douma, and without waiting for OPCW to conduct their investigation..
Sons of *******, leave that poor, war torn country in peace.
If you are a citizen of one of these countries, then DO NOT ask any help from me on these forums, since, in protest against this aggression by your governments, I do not provide assistance/help anymore.
Let Syria be finally in peace.

A video of false chemical attack in Douma, Syria, which led to Western illegal attacks.

My guess for Sweden would be its lax laws on piracy.
If you can host this patch on your server, post a link for others.
