    Default The King's Wedding

Here, outside King's Landing, on the Tourney Grounds, will be the Wedding Festivities of His Grace Aegon III and Lady Elenya of Lys.

The flat field was now covered in tents and wooden platforms, with banners and other decorations about.
The Wedding was outside, since the Sept was being rebuilt.

There were also rumours about that the tourney that was to happen 2 years past would now happen after the Wedding.

Among the crowds of various nobles strolled Aemond and his fiancee, his first cousin, Lady Elaena of House Skyborn. However, due to Aegon III recognizing his cousin, they began to use their Targaryen surname that they were born with. Aemond quietly strolls around with Elaena who looks around at the style of the Westerosi nobility. Aemond had begun to feel rather impatient...no word on the offer to join the Small Council though he had finally become a fief holder in the Crownlands. Elaena only managed to hold back his anger. He glanced at his fiancee.

Not like our old home. Wouldn't you agree?

Yes, My Lord. I would have to agree. Lys has more fashion in my views.

He quietly shook his head and continued walking with her now as Aemond strolled among the various crowds of nobles.

Stannis was present, with his finest doublet of red, as was Tygett, although he wore one of claret (as well as a large codpiece). Myrcella wore a beautiful dress of Myrish lace. Tygett was near some women, as usual, whereas Myrcella waited with her father for Bolton.

Bolton arrived to the wedding dressed in a linen pink short tunic with the sigil of his house finely sewed in it. He was wearing a long stockings and a white undertunic. He had polished his chain, and the Hand shone as he walked towards Myrcella and Stannis. He smiled, bowed his head and tried to be discreet, after all he didn't want to disturb anyone in there.

Lord Lannister, you are most elegant in this occasion. Lady Myrcella, your beauty is enhanced even more with that gorgeous dress

The Arryns were at the tourney in force. Lord Julian strolled arm in arm with his wife Lady Geanina. Their son Patrek was with the Hand of the King. Ser Harryn and his wife Lady Symanta walk toward Aemond.
"Aemond Skyborn isn't it? Or is it Targaryen now? I am sorry, it is so difficult to keep up with these things My Lord!" Lady Symanta says simperingly. Ser Harryn squeezes her hand before extending his own. "Lord Aemond, Ser Harryn Arryn. A pleasure."

Aemond noticed a man approach him with a lady. He listens to their words before nodding his head.

I am indeed Targaryen. We use the name Skyborn to show we are a cousin branch of the current ruling house. My cousins are descended from the former Grand Maester, Viserys Targaryen. And I am descended from Sansa Lannister and her late husband, King Aegon II.

He looks at the two Arryns before taking Ser Harryn's hand and shaking it. He gestures to Elaena.

This is my cousin and fiancee, Elaena Targaryen. Her father was Viserys and Visenya Targaryen, the youngest children of the late Viserys I.

OOC: I'm going by the assumption that Mattos is long dead, and the RP about it lasted the course of a few weeks.

Lord Royce is present, standing alone among the various gathered Lords.

Julian Arryn and Lady Geanina walk toward the Lord of Runestone.
"Uncle." Geanina says fondly, kissing him on the cheek. "It is good to see you outside your walls once more."
"Lord Royce." Julian says levelly, but with an inward smile.

Isaac managed a smile, and pulled Geanina into an embrace. "Gods, I've missed you." He stepped back, and nodded to Julian. "My Lord."

Aenar also arrived, hoping to find a wife among the assembled ladies.

"Not as much as we have missed you Uncle." Geanina says. "My love, can you give me and my Uncle some time alone?" Geanina says looking up at her husband with a smile.
"As if I could deny you anything!" Julian says. "Lord Royce, after the wedding we shall journey back to Runestone together to lay Mattos to rest properly. I have some matters of import I would discuss with you along the way." He inclines his head and walks away, Geanina watches him leave and sighs.
"He's a good man that husband of mine. Sometimes I worry for him."

Lord Arryn strides over to Aenar. "Lord Aenar. Well met." He says offering his hand. "And how are you finding noble life?"

He grins, shaking his hand warmly.

Well enough, lord Arryn. My lands make sure I am well taken care of. All I need now is a spouse.

"Ah! Those lands were well earned, but in marriage you may find yourself wishing you had remained in King's Landing! Well a word of advice; marry locally. You are as yet new to this position, and many Lords would be...resentful of new blood. Not myself of course, I saw how valiantly you fought. Nobility is not merely a title but a deed no?" He smiles. "To my point, it may be prudent to establish yourself locally by marrying a good, Crownlander girl. Once your blood is established in the Crownlands then you may find your House moving up quickly." Arryn's smile carries a not entirely innocent gleam to it this time. "I hear the women of House Velaryon are quite beautiful."

I must be careful though... I wouldn't want to accidentally marry one of my kin.

Ser Mace Tyrell arrived at the wedding, too, representing his father.
Friendly as he is he greated most of the lords and ladies on his way, while looking after his brother Ser Garth.

Meanwhile Garth watched the king and the people around him from a safe distance. Now being Lord Commander his duty wasn't easier than it was before. Especially the meetings of the Small Council made him always tired, but luckily nobody wanted to talk with him for now.
His minds were still at the letter, his uncle Moryn sent him about Victarion's death during an accident at the tourney preparations and the unbelievable treason of House Chester.

And between you and me, there is little that gives me more satisfaction than smacking someone about with a sword." He smiled again. I can't show how I really feel, even to my own family, not with all these eyes about.
Geanina laughs fondly. "Well I am sure the rest of the lists will tremble to learn of your entry, Uncle." She notices the tightness around her Uncle's eyes however. 'All is not well, but he is healing.' She thinks. Without taking the smile off her face she squeezes her Uncle's arm in silent support and understanding. "Just promise to be gently with my Julian if you meet!" She says brightly. "Though I am given to understand you may have good reason to...smack him about as you put it."

Harryn meanwhile turns to Lady Elaena.

"My Lady. You are truly beautiful, Lord Aemond is a lucky man!" He smiles. "Tell me, how do you like your family's seat?"

Arryn laughs loud and well, a genuine sound. "True enough. Celtigar is another old and proud family, though not so far out of a newly made Lord's reach." He lowers his voice conspiratorially. "Though I hear their women are somewhat...shrewish. A terrible thing for a Lord to say of course, and if you tell anyone I said so I will deny it roundly; but after the aid you gave to my kinsman, His Grace, I felt I had to give you fair warning!" He chuckles. "Well if none of the ladies in these parts will have you, I am sure one of ladies of The Vale would gladly marry a man of such proven valour."

We are glad to be home. With the death of my uncle and aunt in the past three years, Lys had nothing left for us. No future, no hopes...just a city to live in. Elaena and her brother, Aemon, agreed to come to Westeros with me. Mother was elated to learn of my survival. I was only a year old and unknown to but Loren Lannister and Sylvester Baratheon before I was taken away from my mother by my Uncle and to Lys.

Elaena would look at her future husband as Aemond nodded slightly, permitting her to speak openly.

Well...we are content. A good holding along the coast that reminds me of my birth place. Aemond could use the experience as a Lord among the nobility of Westeros. An education with the Grand Maester is something of great value, but personal experience is greater.

I shall have to bear that in mind, my lord. Thank you.
