Rolling back the version

Quick question (sorry if it has been repeated) to play a mod e.g lotr tw, this needs v1.2, i currently use v1.5, is ther a way to roll back the version? Apart from de-installing and re-installing etc?

Nope, you will have to completely reinstall RTW. There is no way to uninstall the patches

yes it is possible there is an RTW 1.2 zip patch which you just have to unzip do downgrade from 1.5 to 1.2

I have never heard of it, and atm i doubt that is true. Was it made by CA?

no i dont know who made it but i know it was available for download on the RTR forums and that it works (or at least does for me)

It is possible, just reinstall the patch, i had patch 1.5 installed i put 1.2 back on to play RTR

The downgrade zip worked perfectly for me...make sure there aren't any other mods installed?

What I have done for all while is to have a backup of 1.2, 1.5 and 1.6, so I can copy them and install the required mods on them.
1.2 I can delete soon when there aint almost none mods on it anymore.

I used to be a necromancer on a few forums in a past life.

But as to the question at hand, it's best not to take any risks and just do a fresh install to save yourself the aggravation.

But you have to do more than go to "Add or Remove Programs". You have to go into Program Files and delete all the remaining stuff manually. I forgot to do this once, and I had Darthmod loading screens in my vanilla game, which was otherwise clean.
