Default WWII cavalry and blitzkrieg discussion

    Right back to our discussion
Yes the French had massive gaps in there line
They did not extend the defensive line along the Belgian border
The Belgians were really annoyed about this as the Germans would attack them
The French said the Belgians didn't let them extend the line along their border

Ok here are some articles that explain this ridiculous theory that Polish mounted infantry attacked german tanks...

The Poles were not some idiots who ran around on horses stabbing tanks, i cannot explain the amount of ignorance behind this. In those articles you'll also find that the polish battalions were armed with an armored troop which carried 37mm Bofors and AT rifles. Surely you don't need a blitzkrieg when a bunch of flying idiots charge tanks and trenches? I mean really does anyone believe that? Its a myth carried up by Guderian and an Italian reporter.

This is to everyone who believes that a man on his horse rides up to a tank and starts stabbing it thinking he will gain anything from doing it.

Also concerning that the French left a hole in their line and the British got encircled is just proof of their incompetence really, they had a year to prepare after Poland got invaded and they still barely managed to hold longer than them.

And this is not just pointed to you Whukid, this is to everyone who believes that a man on his horse rides up to a tank and starts stabbing it thinking he will gain anything from doing it.

The Poles charged German Infantry positions but were cut down by accurate and sustained fire from the mechanized platoon's halftracks and supporting stug III assault guns.
No one ever said Polish cavalry attacked German tanks.

This thread is unnecessary and off topic

Well it clears up the one of the most popular myths of WW2 so i wouldn't say its completely unnecessary .

Me and lotsofXandzZ are trying to prove that the poles were much better prepared and cleverer than people think
This thread s not off topic
As for your links this is more proof
    The poles had average tanks
A match to German ones if used correctly and they were often
The French had the best tanks but they were poorly managed
A char bis managed to destroy ten tanks in a row

Guys this is a WW1 mod for Total War, not a historical discussion and debate forum for WW2 myths.

That forum is here or here,

    and this thread is closed..
