    hahahahahahahhahha Windows 2003 Server!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    *passes out hysterically laughing*

If you can't tell me the following, don't do it:
    What EEPROM is
    Your Motherboard model and number
    Your current BIOS
What CMOS is and how to enter it
    What a Boot disk is
How to boot from a floppy

Very basically, Flash BIOS is just rewritable instructions for your motherboard.
You are giving it new instructions.

Tell me exactly what you plan on doing and answers to the above without Googling. You f this up, and say goodbye to your computer. (It's really just Suse I'm worried about, Windows Server is better of dead)

Aristocrat, you can't just follow instructions all the time. You have to be ready for eventualities.
e.g if it tells you that there is a segfault and do you want to write to a different memory address (It will never do this, it would require a lot of hard programming and the BIOS knows to restrictions), you would need to know just what a segfault is and how to work around it because you can't Google it.
(A segfault is where it tries to write to a mem. address it isn't allowed to or overwrite system-critical files)
The instructions don't prepare you for that.
    Good link though.

haha sorry i forgot, um look wherever they sell tons of diff batteries, should say size or voltage on the battery just pull it out and buy a new one, if the new one doesnt fix your bios then its something more major

Take the battery out for about 1 minute then put it back in and the motherboard bios should be reset.
Alternatively goto your motherboard makers website, download their bios flashing tool (typically called Awardflash or similiar generally) and download the newest stable bios file (not a beta).
Then follow the instructions with the flashing tool and flash your bios.
(This is where the diskette comes in as you have to put the bios file and flashing tool on seperate diskettes).

Assuming your motherboard is Abit KV7 (which I think you said).
Then download AwrdFlash and the KV7 BIOS 20 file.
Look here for instructions on how to update the bios, print them out if you need to, its fairly straightfoward and very easy.
    Good luck.
