I'm very glad CA finally supported a blood and gore option with the bloodpack DLC for Shogun 2. I hope for Rome 2 and future TWs they follow the same trend but this time please have the DLC available at release and make it free. Thanks.

I was thinking about this the other day. Obviously some people don't want blood and gore but they should put it in, or put a option that can be toggled on or off in game.

CA should put this in as well as the naked fanatics and make a option to choose what we want actually.

As long as it isn't the Kill Bill style blood from Shogun 2 (which I believe they have said they purposely did it that way for atmosphere or something.)
Yeah I'd expect more realistic blood and gore in Rome 2's bloodpack given the setting. Then again they could go the 300 route and cite that as an inspiration as they cited japanese movies as an inspiration for Shogun 2's pack. I wouldn't mind that myself, it would be pretty badass.

As much as I agree with you about the dire need of realistic blood in R2TW, this subject has been discussed several times already and I'm betting this thread will be closed in the near future.
For a wargame trying to achieve realism like TW you need blood on the battlefield. End of story. For those who don't want it I say switch to supermario, this is war people. There will be blood.
It's IMPOSSIBLE!
Total War: SHOGUN 2 without a Blood Pack => teen rating
Total War: SHOGUN 2 with a Blood Pack => adult rating

I've said it before, and I still agree, give us a grittier DLC!
I mean, damnit, I'm sure some community guy would do it for free even, if he got the tools borrowed!

And NO, my avatar is the coat of arms from the Teutonic Knightly Order because they're awesome.
Again due to a little think called law CA cannot release content after release for free that would push its age rating up. The pest youll get is one for maybe 20-50 cent
I have returned

It isn't "law" of any kind. The ESRB isn't a Government organization.. It is a Gaming industry self-regulating Board. Aslong as the content is currently IN the game at the time of release, the game would keep its rating. Things downloaded after do not effect the BASE game's ESRB rating. If it was found that the DLC was unlocking something that already existed in the game, then it would be cause for re-rating of the base game.
DLC itself can (and sometimes is) rated separately, if it exceeds the rating of the base game. Rating on any game by the ESRB is purely voluntary as well.

Hm, I heard that Steam had a minimum price of DLC's somewhere in the forum. So, that would unfortunately mean that it won't be free. Also, anyone who is going to make business would not make it free, even if it does feel like it's ripping to us, but you have to look at things from different perspectives from time to time.
There are free DLCs on steam, trust me (Skyrim HD textures, anyone?).
I think the idea of makeing a blood pack again is great, the original blood pack was great because it allowed to have the game teen restricted and the DLC adult restricted, I hated it because it wasn't free (I'm ok with paying for RotS, but not for a blood DLC) and because it was censored in my country, I had to find someone to gift it to me.
Anyway I think the idea is really good, take all the things that would be adult rated (blood and gore, dismemberment, naked fanatics, etc.) and, at game release, put them in a free, age restricted DLC, this way everybody is happy.
I agree, though in S2 they were quoting Samurai films, that's why they were so absurd.
