Updating Amazon DD version of MTW2 Gold?

As the title says I am struggling to figure out how in the hell to update the Amazon direct download version of Medieval 2 total war gold to version 1.5, I updated it with the defualt patcher only to find that it now expects me to have a disk, which I dont of course....

Odd fact: under my game details it says the language is English (United Kingdoms)- does that mean I have the UK version?? Because I installed the US gold 1.5 patch...

Also I would like to let everyone know that i have indeed looked at the other issue (from about a year back) that deals with this- however the SEGA page mentioned in that thread no longer exists, so any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

It seems that SEGA no longer supports the Amazon version of the game. About the only thing to do is contact SEGA customer support. Someone else went that route awhile back and received a voucher from them for a free Steam download version of the game. I can't guarantee that's their current policy but you have no other options that I've been able to find. Good luck!

Thats awesome and all, but I already owned the game via steam (technically I own like 5 copies of MTW2).. The issue with the steam version is that it is nearly impossible to get some of the mods to work with it (ex: Broken Crescent- which is basically incompatible with steam)...

Anyways I might as well ask how it is that I can even find out what version (nationality) of the game I have... after all there are other ways of dealing with problems like this.

For mods on the Steam version, have you tried this?
I don't have the Steam version of the game so I don't know what it entails except having to use the ing launcer.
