Britons are not the only ones griping about overpriced living. I came out the store with two bags of food horrified that it cost me $40.

Thanks for commenting, yes I guess the 'developed' world is paying through the nose for its produce now, all the lousy weather we have all been having hasn't helped the price of food staples either.

I love the mention of the weather. We do go into lockdown after the slightest of things.

I liked reading about your thoughts on Citizenship as well.

Hope your block can be cured.

And indeed we do have some snow now! In fairness, we don't get enough to spend the money they do in Canada or whatever on snow clearing equipment. I seem to recall in Montreal that parking meters are set back half-way in to the buildings from the kerb, so they are not covered by ploughed snow.

Yes as can be seen by the recent snow everything sort of grind to a halt, on the plus side my dog does love it though!

No sure about the block to be honest, I feel a little demotivated at the moment, will try to get out of the lethargy to continue at some point.

There's no competition Tig, yours will be far superior, after all mine is just the ramblings of a senile old man

I'm not sure that its money sometimes I think its a lack of inventive thinking

A great selection of posts, especially about the umbrella problem.

Problem of your own making! £70 for an umbrella? Where are you buying it, Harrods?!

What's her name, Yvette? with the eye make-up and jumping around "what's that!" laughable. Was watching Mrs Browns Boys the other day and she described people who call psychic hotlines as "Egits with credit cards" - well it may not have been Egits : - that's about right.

"I'm hearing from someone, Jack, John, James...", voice from the audience, "Zebediah!" "Yes, that's it!" - nonsense. burn them at the stake

My word Ybbon what have you been drinking Just to clarify I wouldn't pay £70 for a brolly, I was using it more as a slight to people who 'must have' the latest en vogue label

Woo! Tale of Rome update. I hope this is the start of a rush of updates.

Glad to hear you might be through the block.

And AARs... I like them quite plot heavy. (Eastern Jewel of Western World! )

It maybe more a trickle than a flood to start with

I didn’t increase my output to get it, I just kept on with what I was doing, citizenship didn’t seem that hard to obtain to me, but then perhaps it felt that way because I was not actively seeking to obtain it, it’s still nice to have it though!
In the end, what really matters is the fact that the recipient managed to do something useful for the community. On the other hand, others are contributing just to increase their chances of obtaining the badge, which I find quite embarrassing.
Is there anything to them, do people really have the typical traits of a Sagittarius
For some very odd reasons, I do have many of the typical traits pertaining to that zodiac sign. On the other hand, I loathe the fact that some people cannot start their day without reading the daily horoscope, which is nothing but utter garbage. From what I gather, a visit to a professional astrologer would be more adequate for anyone who is into these sort of things.
Now I know that some people have found comfort and solace from the information that they have been given by the ‘gifted’, especially those who have been bereaved, but quite a few (maybe nearly all?) of these ‘spiritualists’ are only in it for the cash.
There are still tons upon tons of money to be made from exploiting the fears and superstition of the modern man, whether it's about religious practices or "supernatural" occupations.
On a lighter note, I do sometimes watch some of the paranormal shows that are on TV, you know the ones with a team of ‘experts’ a presenter and an infra-red camera, they are so bad they are good. Watch one of them for entertainment value and you will see what I mean!
You mean those laughable ghost hunting shows?
My argument is that there is room for both; after all some readers like a nice meaty read to get there teeth into whilst others prefer a screen shot heavy AAR with only some underpinning text explaining plot and tactical reasoning – some like a mixture of both.
You are probably right. In my opinion, the ideal AAR is the one which constructs itself around the narrative aspects rather than relying heavily on campaign screenshots.
No actually I’m thinking about umbrellas
Now that's a very British topic I should say.
