After the short campaign has finished, and you've won, you are given the option to continue. Does this make the game into a long campaign?

It's the same as when you win a long campaign. Continuing just allows you to conquer the whole map, if you decide to. Usually you win campaigns before you get to experience the full awesomeness of the game (Timurids, America) so it's worth doing.

Man, i love this game
