?? Matto, battles against AI factions can be played and no screenshots are required, it's said in the rules.

SS are not required against the AI, but still are a nice addition: even in the previous RPG HS , many players including me, posted their fights against the AI.

    Byzantium diplomatic situation:
-20 turns of peace signed with the Kingdom of Hungary
-20 turns of peace signed with the Fatmid's Empire
-20 turns of peace signed etween Kiev and our little realm.

-Turks signed initially a deal including exchange of settlements and a NAP of 20 turns. But they ate their own words, and broke the deal. They proved to be liars and not reliable.

@Guys I'll assume all your deals of NAP start from turn 78, since in the first 2 turns NAP is forced by the rules, anyway.

One turn goes by and we are slaughtering each others armies? Glad to know who I can trust now

Thanks for replaying the turn, it would've gotten ugly with the replaying of turns.

Also, what's going on with the investigating? Is there any way I can help?

I accepted (I was the one to offer the deal in the first place) the 20 turns NAP along with the exchange of regions. It was a whole-package deal, which you accepted.
In the moment you ate your words, and canceled the deal you just signed few days before, you canceled the NAP too, mighty Sultan.

Venetian and Sicilian leaders have come together to solve the Italian crisis. They have agreed that Italy can't be ruled by 3 leaders so the Genoa's territorry has been divided between Venice and Sicily. The leaders have also made an alliance so that south and north italy stand united and protect each other. With this Sicilian King has started a war with Genoa and the first settlement has fallen. The next step is to gather an army for assault on the city Genoa itself.

On diplomatic front Sicily has also made a 20 turn NAP with Hungary and peace with Egypt.

If the AI defeated my army and sends them back into a city, can I move those units on my turn or do I have to wait a turn.

I know rules say "army defeated by players can not move" but I think you might have meant all armies defeated in battle can not move.

Yes you can move those: the defeated army rule is only valid between human players.

The Caliph is unsure of the reasons for war between Egypt and Sicily but our diplomats offer a ceasefire and trade rights to the King of Sicily. The Caliph desires peaceful relations with all his neighbors.

Egyptian soldiers now march through the streets of Tortosa having slain every last invading infidel illegitimately occupying the castle. The Crusader empire dwindles and will soon be erased from the shores of Egypt. The last Crusader controlled city in Egypt proper is now under siege by a newly raised to power general named Khalid al-Rasibi. Khalid was granted his rank through prowess in battle against the disorganized invading armies.

The Caliph will allow General al-Rasibi the opportunity to prove his worth and capture the city of Antioch.

The youngest son of the heir to the realm Buwayh al-Ramli bravely fought the Crusader King Foulques in the open fields near Kerak and sent the coward fleeing for his life. Regrettably the battle with the Crusader king prevented General al-Ramli from joining in the liberation of the fortress at Kerak but the eager and faithful servants of the Caliph were able to capture the castle and raise the standard of the Fatimid's high above the ramparts.

The Caliph is pleased with the progress in pushing the invaders out of Egypt and anticipates a quick end to this conflict with the Crusaders.

    Seljuks up!

Letter from General Etgar mac Donnchada after London was captured to King Somairle in Aberdeen:

    Your Grace,

As you commanded our forces splitted into four parts after Nottingham fell into our hands and marched towards the remaining english cities and castles. My cousin Gille Micheil marches towards Caernarvon, General Mac Chennedig marches towards Exeter and half of his force has already arrived at Exeter and prepared siege weapons to storm the walls. I marched towards London with the main force and sent 1000 men to siege the castle of Winchester until we arrive to take it.

It was easy to take Winchester. William of Westbury, the general in charge of the defenses of London, surrendered the city after he saw our host approaching the walls. We still had to kill a few English loyalists but the city is now in our hands. I sent Ser Westbury towards Winchester to deal with the garrison tehre and he might convince the soldiers there to turn on their King as well.

i hope we did you a great service my grace. I will stay in London with a garrison until i receive new orders from you.

    Your humble servant.
    -Ser Etgar mac Donnchada

King Somairle to his steward after reading the letter:

"Send an answer to Ser Etgar. I will come to London myself. After this great success it might be a good idea to claim the English crown for myself. with the English king trapped in Exeter and all the remaining english forces scattered throughout the realm.
I, King Somairle of Scotland, hereby claim the crown of England by right of conquer. Send this decrete to all cities in my realm as well and prepare my horse. I am eager to see what treasures the English treasure vault holds for me."

Threat from the south, and from the east
The Aragonese are continuing their raids on the villagers as they pillage and invade French territory. I must put a stop to this! But, alas, I cannot send my full force as the Germans are building their military against my borders! I will have to show them once again that my French warriors are superior!

    Byzantine.

I've got a crazy army upkeep guys, as I imagine everyone has. How is that problem going to be solved? I'm -7k in a single turn - didn't care to censor it

The Holy Emperor makes ceasefire with King of Scotland. Cologne was given back to us in a fair peace treaty that we hope will last a long time.

    2 turns of peace?!
"For after the their baptism the Croats made a covenant, confirmed with their own hands and by oaths sure and binding in the name of St. Peter the apostle, that never would they go upon foreign country and make war on it, but rather would live at peace with all who where wiling to do so; and they recived from the same pope of Rome a benediction on this effect, that if any other foreigners should come against the country of these same Croats and bring war upon it, then might God fight for the Croats and protect them, and Peter the disciple of Christ give them victories."

Forgot the 2 turns of peace, it's usually 1. If Peanut doesn't object could we simply go on?

It seems unlikely to me he won't object: he lost many men.
Moreover he comes before you in the turn order, so he'll have the chance to attack you first.
This will greatly change things.. I'd be greatly surprised if he agrees to continue.
I'd suggest you to replay to save time since 99.99% of chances are that he won't agree to that

PS: About the high upkeep. Having the factions been managed by the AI , that's normal since the AI receive extra-money and they might not pay the recruitment (I know this to be true for the mongols) or the buildings they build. 2 main solutions:
    -disband units
-expand against the AI as fast as you can: you'll increase the font of revenue (thanks to the new settlements and sacking) and at the same time decrease the size of your military power. Even 2-3 settlements might get you in the right track. Obviously cities normally make more money (but there are exception on both sides).
