How to make a simple animated signature or avatar

Due to popular demand here's a guide how to make a simple animated signature or avatar.

I use photoshop CS2, and it is regrettable for the non-Scandinavian in Danish (I think it's very nice). If you have any trouble with deciphering what these strange words mean, please say so, and I'll explain the best I can.

Step 1

Open photoshop.. easy right?



Step 2

Now open the image(s) you want to use.



Step 3

Write an appropiate text.



Step 4

Go to the top toolbar and choose animation




Step 5

Choose the 'new frame option'



Step 6

Working with the new frame now, go to the layer preferences and click on the eye, at the SHUT layer. This will make the text invincible.



Step 7

Write a new word so your sentece can get on rolling. In this case THE.



Now do step 5 - 7 until you have all the words/pics you need.
The whole tutorial can be done with pictures. Just use pictures instead of text.



We now have the three pictures needed for the animation.

Step 8

Select all the frames and right click just above the play-pause controls. Select how many seconds you want to wait until the next image comes around.
That's it. Now how to safe the danged thing.



Step 9

To save the file as an animation press on files, and choose 'save to web'.




Et voila!



Sorry for the huge pictures, but apperantly they get all screwed up when I try to resize them, even in photoshop

Nice tutorial, its just that I have CS3 and this tutorial doesnt really fit in exactly, so im having a hard time making this animation of mine.
