Faction choosing problem

always when i open the game and go to third age and select mordor i press continue and after 10 sec or so
the game comes back to the selection menu from third age costum and so so help plz

i have steam version and i did everything but it still brings me to the menu :/

Have you edited security for your Medieval 2 Total War main folder ( Steam/Steamapps/Common/Medieval II Total War ) ?If you didn`t, go here, apply step 3 from section How to Fix it.
AFTER DOING THIS STEP 3 from that section, uninstall TATW by using Control Panel\ Uninstall program, after that delete Third_Age_3 folder in Steam/Steamapps/Common/Medieval II Total War/mods folder ( one of the Kingdoms campaign you renamed Third_Age_3 folder to )
and do this then:

1. point ALL four TATW Installers to install onto your DESKTOP with that ˝.....˝ browse button, you will get a folder named mods, open it and inside you will find Third_Age_3 folder. ( don`t create any folder on DESKTOP, that mods folder will be created by itself).

2. Copy paste that Third_Age_3 folder into your Steam/Steamapps/Common/Medieval II Total War/mods folder.

3. rename for example americas to americas2, Third_Age_3 folder rename to americas and that should be it.

Finally, select the americas campaign from the Steam menu and the mod should launch.

i did all of that my third age opens up and all but the faction screen i click a faction and then like a 10 sec pause and it puts me in the select campagain menu wat am saying is that my third age is good but the faction screen is not

Have you tried to delete map.rwm file found in Third_Age_3 ( the renamed Kingdoms folder) \data\ world\ maps\ base folder?

i dont even have the map.rmv so i suggest i deleted it

Hm, try to run your M2TW game, start a campaign ( just one with any faction you want) exit M2TW and give another try to your TATW.
If that doesn`t work, go to Third_Age_3 ( the renamed Kingdoms folder) \data\ text folder and delete these .strings.bin files:

If this doesn`t work, I would suggest to reinstall again, but reinstall it like I told you.

not only can i play the mod but not even hisorickel battles or costum battles

Hmm, I don't know. It has to be a bad install. Try reinstalling like ElvenKind said.
