I didn't download the mod
Anyways, you should keep the normal map.
And the VH/VH is bugged in RTW, everyone knows it.

You'd be surprised how many people download the mod and play but don't post or comment anything.
Playing now with the Julii family on M/M just to give a shot, and looks like the other families are expanding really quickly comparing to vanilla, Brutii took Apolonia, Salona and Segestica, Scipii took Sicily and Thapsus, and I'm just on the 20th turn. I'm gonna have surely a really bloody civil war
Yeh VH campaign difficulty is very challenging... (Everyone is almost always at war with you.)
and
VH battle difficulty is also very challenging... (You need a good general when facing a highly skilled one.)
H/H is probably a very good balance between the 2.
Good games bruno...
EDIT: Damn its hard... I just played VH/VH as the Iberians and I got totally owned this time...
I think that 5000 coin bonus is gonna open up a whole new challenge...
Good games all...

Check this out everyone...
This is a new intro video of me kicking the last of the Carthaginians out of Spain and dealing with a few "barbarian" raids in the north from the Gauls. Towards the end... the Romans land... AGAIN.

I cannot stress enough... the IMPORTANCE of skilled generals at this high a difficulty level and their impact on your factions survival! Lucky for me in these 2 battles I didn't face any...
Good games to all!

Nice vid , but why don't you pursued the last cartaginians to get some more experience to your cav? Anyways that gallic horde on Osca got freaked out by your town militia
You can edit your preferences so that you can play full screen instead of having it so small
Really? Thats what you got from that?
I have been playing RTW since 2004 when the demo was first released. Give me some credit man...
Of course I play full screen ahowl!
I have a 4:3 monitor and I recorded the video in 4:3 format.
I play with both resolutions at 1280x1024 which is my max resolution...
Good games.

I just realized... to respond to earlier curiosities I had... that my Militia actually DID hold off for a bit against some full Gaul warbands!
In the second meeting with the gauls in the field... They do hold off for a while... while it was clear they may not have won without support.
They were a brave Militia...
Also to consider is that they had no experience and no improved weaponry/armour.
Yet... another thing to consider is that the enemy army did not have a great general leading it...
Good games to all!

My screen most be too big then
I've always considered the Warband unit a 'Barbarian Militia' unit.
Your screen is probably 16:9 is all...
In plain RTW 1.5 the Warbands have armour values and are extremely difficult.
The Gaulic "Militia"
It actually appears to have to be a balance between Militia and Iberian Infantry to stop them due to their high Attack values when I look at the numbers. I am not sure if my Militia alone would have held them without support...
BUT!
Maybe a Miltia with improved weaponry/armour and some experience can definetely do this alone!
Still... we have the larger unit size to deal with so they will always be pesky...
Good games.

A second video showing my current campaign progress...
This is my first major defeat. The Roman Scipii are going to be a tough opponent in Africa...

Charging head-on those Hastati with your FM wasn't the wisest thing... you could've lost him!
Hello all. I reinstalled good ole RTW again and started a new campaign on H/H as the Gauls.
Im toying with the idea of an update to the 2.1 Version of SSaS.
I am thinking about focusing on presentation... Maybe new loading screens and such and a refinement of themes/atmosphere.
For example... Making the North Africa terrain more "authentic"
Is this a hard thing to do? I have never tackled this area of modding...
Good games everyone!

2D art is more rewarding to be done than endless scripting and text files editing.
So yeah, f you want some help on Loading Screens I can help with GIMP. Eager to learn stuff.
