Workin on an update... Version 1.9

Has anyone ever thought of or done this?

Has anyone ever seen or done this?

Is it possible to script more than 1 general bodyguard type to randomly attach to generals?

    Interesting Fact?
Only the emperor or triumphant generals could wear all purple, anybody else doing so would be killed.

I don't believe it is possible due to hard coding limits. What else are you looking to add?

I actually successfully added the Chosen Swordsmen unit as the new bodyguard unit for the Gauls so it is possible...

    Problem is...
Then every general the Gauls field would spawn with this same bodyguard unit type... and none would be on horseback.

Dunno if I would want that... It would be neat to have several different General's Bodyguard unit types.

    The list is minor ahowl...

    Version 1.9
-Removed urban cohort and first cohort units permanently.
-Optimized a few things for multiplayer gameplay
    -Reworked some bodyguard units

I am still brainstorming to see if their is anything else I want to add in before I release Version 1.9.

    Good games to all...

Well what you did is possible. However you can only assign one unit to be a general's bodyguard.

I got a problem installing the mod, I can run the game nicely, but I can't create a campaign, whatever faction I choose, it loads halfway and then crashes. But good work anyways!

hmm strange. Are you patched up to 1.5 on plain RTW or do you have BI 1.6?

What language version of the game do you have?

Is it the Gold version? Steam version? Plain RTW version?

    Hey man,

Played your mod a bit today.

I was the Julii and played on H/H. It is currently 262 BC and I have conquered Segesta, Patavium, and just recently Mediolanium. The Gauls sued for peace and that's where I halted for the day.

I like the Capitol building you added, it's realistic and I will probably add something like that to RTR. I've noticed that roads and ports take a lot longer to build and are more expensive, but traders and markets are cheaper and take less time to build? Why is this?

In regards to the temples. They say Economic, Military bonus etc but they only offer a happiness bonus?
With farms, why so expensive and long? Are these the key to population growth?

I like what you did to Patavium, usually it booms with population. I exterminated it after conquest and wasn't able to retrain all my troops. Oops!

    Some suggestions:
-Bring back the Horse Archers for Armenia and Parthia. They make those factions so much more interesting and unique.
-Implement the vanilla radar map. I don't like the dull grey map.
-Here is a better alternative for the Immortal Unit: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showt...usa0-s-Armoury

    - Why not combine the Roman factions into one?
    - I also have a list of changes for the descr_strat (with one Roman faction)

-Give Rome, Arretium, and Capua to the Romans
-Give Tarentum, Apollonia, and Massilia to the Greeks
    -Give Tingi to Carthage
    -Give Nepte to Numidia
-Give Cyrene and Siwa to the Rebels
-Give Sidon, Susa and Palmyra to Seleucids
    -Give Halicarnassus to Egypt
    -Give Ancyra to Gaul
    -Give Campus Sakae to Scythia
    -Give Phraaspa to Parthia

Also since you would have three faction slots available, you could add these factions with minimal work:

-Illyria; Would start with Salona and Segestica
-Nabataea; Would Start with Petra and Bostra
-Roman Rebels; to simulate Civil Wars.

Just some feedback and ideas for you.

Thanks for the feedback ahowl... I appreciate that. Did u try Version 2.0?

Now to answer some of your questions...

I've noticed that roads and ports take a lot longer to build and are more expensive, but traders and markets are cheaper and take less time to build? Why is this?

In my eyes it takes much longer to build a road/port then to setup a simple tavern building for example...

In regards to the temples. They say Economic, Military bonus etc but they only offer a happiness bonus?

The bonus comes after improvement. You slowly gain a temples bonuses over improvements. Check the tech tree.

With farms, why so expensive and long? Are these the key to population growth?

Sure I would recommend farms to help population growth. The reason they take longer to build is it takes more time in my eyes to produce fruitful crops than it does to build a simple market building with basic shacks. Took a different concept/stance regarding building times...

I like what you did to Patavium, usually it booms with population. I exterminated it after conquest and wasn't able to retrain all my troops. Oops!

It is a very strategic choice to make now depending on what you plan to do after a province is taken over. Implementing slavery also finally makes sense... Or if your hurting on gold Ex... It is your choice. Population actually matters with the Mini-Mod.

I read your suggestions... But I would really prefer not to take anyone elses work. (In regards to immortal unit.)

As far as the rest of the suggestions... Simple and basic ahowl...

Your gonna turn this Mini-Mod into a total conversion.

    VH/VH awaits you...

Good games man and thanks for the feedback...

    Hey man,

Im not the biggest history buff on Roman times though the period does fascinate me...

However... I noticed there are 2 Roman helmets in RTW.

A bronze helmet for what seems like a pre-marian helmet and a metal/iron/alloy helmet in a silver shade...

Was the bronze type helmet more specific to the early Roman empire and the tin/alloy silver helmet more of a late Roman empire version?

    Any factual info is appreciated.

The best part of this mod in my opinion is that changes stuff that could be improved, but keeps the nice vanilla feel
