    Default Problem, Please help!

    Hi all

First post on here but if been searching to try fix my problem for an hour or so,

I bought Medieval 2 total war and The kingdoms expansion both off of steam just so i could play TATW.

I done everything correctly installed the two parts and then all the patches into the correct folder

But then as soon as i go to run the game like im told i get an error message, Something always has to go wrong.

It says "Unhandled exception has occurred in your application. If you click continue the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click Quit the application will close immediately, Error in the application"

Im sure someone has complained about this before, I jut cant see it, Anyways if someone can please explain what is wrong id be very greatful,

    Alan

You need the patches as well. Kingdoms has a 1.05 patch you need to install too.

Yes. After you're done, use the cleaner file.

Steam updates the game automaticly. So that's not the issue. Anyways, did you rename for example the americas folder to something else, and the Third_Age_3 folder to americas? Cuz for steam you need to replace campaigns in order to play. Or you must use this handy tool: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/downl...o=file&id=2824

Yeah, simply select the Teutonic campaign in the Kingdoms launcher and it should launch TA.

When i go onto steam and press "play" on kingdoms its coming up that "Microsoft. NET Framework unhandled exception bla bla bla" and when i click on "continue" the launcher comes up and reads

The Launcher is your portal to the latest news and information regarding the Total War Series!
To access this valuable resource you will need an Internet Connection.
If you already have an Internet Connection, please check your computer's Internet Connection and Proxy Settings.

Then has down in the left hand corner 6 buttons all labeled "Button 1"

Yes, you need to rename one of the Kingdoms campaigns to something else, for example change teutonic to teutonic1 and then change Third_Age_3 to teutonic. Then launch the teutonic campaign through the Steam menu and it should launch Third Age Total War.

That sounds like a Steam problem. You might want to get with Steam support. You could also ask in the main M2TW Tech Help forum. Someone there may be able to help.

So i got TATW to actually launch, I installed a Java and that seemed to help, But as always there's another problem, 2 in fact.

When im on the TATW main page and try click on "Fellowship campaign" or "Main campaign" i get this notice

"Please select an item from the list"

When i click on "Custom battle" or else "Quick battle" everything is fine until i am selecting the armies for the two sides, Just as im finished selecting the armies the game crashes and i get this notice

"Medieval 2 has encountered an unspecified problem and will now close"

Then im back onto my desktop, This is very irritating, Hope someone can help with these 2 issues

Sorry i mean "Third age campaign" and "Fellowship campaign"

    Right

Im after uninstalling both games and i am going to start all over again, Im currently downloading Medieval 2 total war, then im going to download Kingdoms, Then im gonna try play both games before i mod them in anyway, just to see they work, Then i am going to install the mod part 1 and 2 and the 2 patches into the (C drive>program files(x86)>steam>steamapps>common>medieval 2 total war.

Then i am going to go into the mod folder and change the crusade campaign to my name, then change The_Third_Age folder to crusade. Then i am going to run medieval total war expansions choose the "Crusade" campaign and that should be that i should be able to play TATW then right?

Are you using Windows7/8 or Vista? If so it's very important that before installing you disable User Account Control (UAC). This can interfere with proper installation. There are two methods for doing this: Method 1 and Method 2.

    Yes, do that.
American, French, Israeli and British government's ILLEGAL aggression against the Syrian people, without any proof for chemical attacks in Douma, and without waiting for OPCW to conduct their investigation..
Sons of *******, leave that poor, war torn country in peace.
If you are a citizen of one of these countries, then DO NOT ask any help from me on these forums, since, in protest against this aggression by your governments, I do not provide assistance/help anymore.
Let Syria be finally in peace.

A video of false chemical attack in Douma, Syria, which led to Western illegal attacks.
