Sauron turns into an orc

Hi,

I am playing as Mordor and resurrected Sauron. Unfortunately for unknown reasons his model in the campaign map turns into an orc and he loses his some command stars. If I remember correctly he now has 4 or 5. He also loses all Movement bonuses so that he's very slow. This isnt fun.
Has anyone head about this issue and can provide some help? Thx in advance.

Forgot to add: I use 3.2 version without submods.

Are you sure he is the leading general?

What do you mean by "leading" general? Hes not the faction leader, some orc general is. But he is a general, he spawned when I brought the Ring to Barad Dur just like it was supposed to happen.

Well, if you have several generals in an army, he might not be the leading general. Although I actually can't imagine that this is it as the guy with the most command stars usually leads the army.

edit: there is a very easy way to find out what it is perhaps. If you upload your save game here, we could take a look. Note that this site will require you to put your save file in Rar format before you can upload it here in an attachment.

Ok, heres the file (I hope). Sauron is in Minas Tirith.

Seems Sauron lost his biography at some point. It would give him some extra traits and probably his skin on the world map as well. I know the same stuff used to happen with Nazgul that respawned after being defeated in battle while using some scripts.

no idea on how to fix it though.

Ok, I have an idea, but I am not sure it is possible. Due to the fact he loses his biography and his animation is obviously related to his biography...would it be possible to transfer all the things he has on his biography on his mace? He does not lose his mace so I think it could be a solution...What you think?

This actually happened to me too, and I was too lazy to post about it.

So, I can confirm it's a bug with standard vanilla 3.2. Don't know what causes it or how to fix it though.

When a hero dies, he looses many of his ancillary and trait and if he is a faction leader or heir, he looses this status. That's just how it is.

In my campaign (vanilla TATW 3.2) Sauron did not die. One turn he just lost his custom campaign strat model and turned into an orc.

It's a possibility, but I think you will have to start a new campaign then.

Perhaps he was an orc all along

On a more serious note though, have you tried reloading a previous turn where Sauron was normal and do the turn again?

So does anyone know which effect is responsible for Saurons appearance? This is from export_descr_character_traits.txt
