nothing at all? they still get stuck on fighting and also suck at it. no fix?
What are you talking about?
>.> that normal, when multiple enemy surrounded your 'general', either he die or bodyguard help your general just in time.
M2TW engine to blame due to when your soldier or general got hit by something, they will "oops!" and stop acting for while.
then you should think carefully before send your general to fight in close combat.
Its easy to make war with others, its never been easy when we need a peace.
My holy damn simple tactic; Strike First, Strike HARD and SHOW NO MERCY.
Also he can get left behind when you withdraw from combat making the move pointless since most of the time you're withdrawing to save the generalAfaik there are no mods that have been able to address these issues unfortunately.
Were there but a tree in this godforsaken place i would have hanged myself.
@altimis
its not "normal". in kingdoms battles, when you play agincourt, your commander, henry the (fifth?), does NOT suffer the stuttering retard bug that infantry generals get in this mod. ive seen normal soldier units be completely surrounded and NOT get the stuttering animation of the generals, meaning they also fight better.
its a pity the modders never fixed this. a simple animation checkup could work out the bug.
Can anybody explain better this issue?
I've never noticed something weird about this, probably because I charge my generals in only to flank enemies or anyway I do EVERYTHING to avoid them to be sorrounded.

While not a fix there are a couple of things I do to avoid this. Put a heavy infantry unit tight on the BG's right flank slightly ahead. This stops the surrounding effect. Another way I saw on a video though I have not tried is to face your BG infantry backwards, turn too engage at the last moment, this puts your general in the left rear of the unit and he moves up to the fighting, they seem to leave him alone more doing this according to the commentator on the Video.
