    Default blitz challenge etc

I feel like challenges keep the game fresh and fun as well as adding another layer so...

I have thought about it and have thought about some challenges and would love to here some more. They are :
    1. blitz challenge with no crusade or jihad abuse. Its not to easy but in my eyes it is kinda cheap to abuse jihad. So if anyone could conquer the hole map in under 30 turns without using jihad or crusade (unless it is legit eg going to jihad rome because it is on the way not just jihading bagdhad and actually taking the region) then I would be impresed

2.ultimate turtle challenge. Complete the game with a turn to go but you can not have all the regions bar one and then take that region. For an added challenge use longer turns per year so that you have to play even longer and not expand to quickly

    3. Pop challenge. Simple get 60k plus pop in every settlement on the map

I would love to here more and even some more specific ones

How about blitzing as the rebels in the Britannia campaign? That should be fun. You'll have to pick your targets well because you're bankrupt in a few turns if you don't disband, and there's no crusade to help you.

What I did might have been considered cheap. But your challenges are easy.
I'm the kind of player that like to push my abilities to the limit. Not everyone is like that and that is fine, but I really don't appreciate being called cheap for it. What I did was really hard, and took immense patience and planning.

If you think it is so cheap, just try do what I did. You'll see how difficult it really is.

I meant to say something like unrealistic and if you think about how it was designed it is kinda cheap. I understand that it must have been hard to do but please don't get angry. Sorry for my phrase. I like blitzing but it just seems boring. Having 60k pop on every city on the map isnt easy. Considering the Americas. So you would have to take them.

Turtle would require immense planning because you would have to time your game and not expand to quickly.

I just think it is more of a challenge if someone did it while not spamming jhiad.

Dunno... I'm a turtler and I think it's easier to turtle than blitzing like totalwar_legend did.

Of course it's not cheap, you're trying to beat the game, totalwar_legend. Most people play for enjoyment, I mainly play to make who am I maps and you play to see how far you can come in beating the game.

how about a challenge on how fast can you kill all other factions in the game without battle? simply by using agents? and you must also not engage in any battle whatsoever even for defensive purpose? if someone attack you (except rebels perhaps) then the challenge ended?

a challenge on how long can you win with 1 stack of army of your choice without replenishing them ever?

a challenge on ambushing enemies, how many times can you ambush throughout the game in x turns?

those are some good challenges, Napoleonic. I like the idea of the first option. I think scotland has the advantage in that, provided they kill off england early.

Please explain? You capture every region but the last one? Problem solved, besiege on the second last turn, conquer on the last turn

no u cant do that. You have to keep expanding so that you roll the last region on the last turn, if there are 100 regions on the map then you would have to go at a rate so that you take them at x number of towns per city. It would be easy to explain in person

  13. #13

    Default Re: blitz challenge etc

so what you're saying is if there is 100 regions and 270 turns you need to take them at a rate of 1 region every 2.7 turns. How on earth is that harder than taking 6.5 per turn?

That wouldn't be hard at all. Just have a stack waiting at the border every 2.7 turns. I really fail to see the challenge in this

Blitzing without jihad would probably be like an ordinary campaign. Even with jihad, blitzing seems to work best in vanilla. With Stainless Steel and Deus lo Vult there are no mercs to hire, while with Chivalry II (the Sicilian Vespers) there are mercs but the garrison script builds large AI armies in the settlements you lay siege on and then the computer player sallies out with odds in the region of 3:1. Kingdoms have no jihad or crusades, and often have no mercs and so it is hard to make much progress at the start. The worst may be Russichi TW, where there are no mercs and for the first 100 turns or so nearly all the units are some basic militia spearmen, archers and woodsmen. The playable Russian factions have hardly any cavalry other than bodyguards, the map is quite big and plague is common. If you are looking for a turtling campaign, look no further.

Vanilla with jihad may be the only case where one can really speak of a blitz campaign.

Stainless Steel has mercs, they're better than the units you can recruit at the start of the game so they're very useful.

Mercs at the start of the game, as in turn 1.

I have thought of a better challenge, it has probably been used already but you can only use peasants through the game, use starting units to defend until you get peasant armies and must conquer the world and beat the tirmuids and mongols. Only one general per stack. Can anyone do it? especially beating the tirmuids and mongols. Even harder would be to use highland rabble
