Default Anyway to give AI buffers to player?

    Hello,
I have looked around the forums and this seems to be the one to post general discussion/questions about the mod, but if this post is in wrong forum, I am sorry and please point me to rigth direction.

Many thanks to all those invovled in making this mod, I enjoy it greatly.

I am currently playing as Gondor in VH/VH setting, it may be my lack of experience but there seems to be only 2 way of winning the game.

    1. Conquer Harad before turn 50 using army of cavalry Generals
    2. Hold Anduin, build up economy, and have endless battle of full stacks and progress down to Harad eventually.

I have found and tried turning off scripts (Garrison/Money) for AI, but that made some faction too weak to survive (like Isengard) and I did not like that.

I've also found thid submod called CRM, but that submod somehow resulted in most of AI's settlement rebelling agaisnt them.

I want to play the game without resorting to extreme strategies (like all general army rush) with some RPG element.

So that got me thinking it would be nice if player could get some of those script bonus of AI like Extra Settlment, Garrison, Money, Stack after losing major settlement, etc.

Is there such submod or some way to tweak the game to give player same buffer as the AIs?

Please do not open 3 threads at the same time. One is enough.

I've never heard of such a submod. I suggest that you lower the difficulty if you think your game is too hard. There are many threads with Gondor players looking for help, do a little search.

That must be the spam filters. I am sorry, that's not your fault. Many words are forbidden for users with less than 3 posts to stop spamming. TWC has a lot of problems with them lately. I think it worked the third time because you had 3 posts then or something.

You can't delete them yourself, we have moderators for that .

    Welcome to the Forum.

I suggest you try lowering the difficulty and choose another faction. Gondor is very hard and for the experienced player.

Wow, I am very impressed by how fast you have reacted, Emperor of Hell, thank you for cleaning up this mess.

And as far as your reply to my post, it is dishearting to hear there is no such submod that you have heard of.

I have seen the posts that you are referring to and have gotten the idea of rooting out Harad in early turns from it. With that strategy I have no problem winning with Gondor with VH/VH difficulty. I was simply hoping for doing so with more thematic gameplay.

I suppose if I want more thematic and less cut-throat way of playing, I could take your advice and lower the difficulty... but something tells me after playing VH/VH, M/H or H/H won't be entertaining (in a masochist way).

It's really not less entertaining. I personally consider lower difficulty levels more fun sometimes, after the 20th Harad stack you have to defeat in a row you'll know why .

I sometimes add infrastructure and pop to all factions using the console when wanting to turtle at Gondor.

    BTW, Empy is FTW.

Hmm, maybe putting Gondor part into the post was a mistake.

I have no problem with actually winning as Gondor in VH/VH.
I like to torture my brain as I suspect most people in this forum do (most high fantasy fans seems to be)

I was merely wondering if it was possible for players to have AI buffs as that would open up whole new way of playing this game.

Sorry for the post being unclear, it was not meant to be another 'Gondor was too difficult' post.

You could do such things yourself using the console. Adding money, finish buildings faster, create units.

As I said, try buffing pop and infrastructure using the console. Then add pop to everybody else as well.

I have done it while turtling, it is great fun.

    There is this submod:

    http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=576630

Which does require you to install the MOS 1.41 submod first though.

You start with the ability to recruit the best of everything by the looks of it. The only issue for you maybe that the AI is also jacked up.

I was thinking of this submod: Turtlemod

I played it myself and you can't rush due to rules. So the mod should be excellent for your idea's. It also lowers stack spam but tones down your recruitment as well. At least as HE turtle campaign it was lots of fun and definately not easier compared to vanilla.

Consider this possibility. Increase the "free upkeep" attribute of various wall levels. That way, you can simply leave a powerful garrison in each city and not worry about moving around defenses while maintaining a powerful "free" (after the initial purchase) defense force.

Turtlemod gives certain buildings more free upkeep slots.
