    Default Campaign map scrolling lag.

I am having campaign map lag. It occurs when I am scrolling around, however it is extremely laggy when I have a unit selected and attempt to scroll the map. I have also noticed that it only lags while my cursor is over land, if it is over water than there is no lag whatsoever.

My game is completely patched, my NVIDIA drivers are up to date. I have a powerful PC and am clueless as to why I would have any map lag. I have attempted turning off and setting to lowest EVERY video option, however I still receive this lag.

It's a known thing. I have a 6770 and it does it to me on land, places like Atlas Mountains, Alps, Sicily, Black Forest, and that's zoomed out.
If you could overclock your i5 to a stable 5GHz, I'd almost lay money because of the way this dinosaur of a game is optimized you'd still lag.
Remember, it's 32bit XP code on a good day and everything including the proverbial kitchen sink goes through one core of the i5 before the 570 sees the first byte.

Thanks for the response. It really is a shame that no effort has been made to put out a performance patch. I understand nothing related to multiple cores could be done, however even just adding in the option of have a tooltip delay (as I assume that's what is causing the lag) would be great. It seems we will have to wait a couple more years for Total War: Medieval III (I'm very excited!).
