Sometimes Art becomes too inaccessible; the stuff of modern art galleries, and the even more recondite analysis are at times overwhelming for some, and do require a degree of more 'engagement'. So I bring to you an type of Art that is more accessible, but perhaps more emotive and in some ways more important. There is no condescension here, so let's all celebrate this wonderful Street Art together, without any superfluous distinctions and further analysis.

I'll post more website about the artists if people here are interested in this stuff.

I love street art. Simple solution is a designated place for the art to be put in the city. Why hassle kids who are spray painting graffiti that is of such high quality? They need a venue to show their works of art not a trip downtown to booking because they have no place to go and no one shows them the opportunities that are open to them.

Thanks Vizi! I was worried no one would like it/people would think it is a nuisanse. I personally love it; it's a perfect way for people in the street to express their culture, which many of my friends in suburbia look down upon/don't know anything about so they mock it.

People mock because they are jealous that they are not as artistic but have a better life so they can look down on the people that do street art. Simple social concept. Your friends just need to be explained why that art was done.

On the same token I am sure the local bank doesn't want spray paint all over the side of its main building. Thus I beleive in the common space where the art can be painted and displayed. They do it at schools with rocks and the junker cars and it works.

Street art is beautiful some places, in others they are vandalism... simple as that!

Beautiful. Wonderful. I love it. I've seen a lot where I live and though most of it qualifies as "vandalism," some of it is truly a marvel of artistic talent.

I especially like the second picture, the one of the biker.

    Peace be with you. :original:

    George Best FTW!

    Irish Potato Famine

    The Titanic

    Julie Livingstone Memorial

    Mural about Holy Cross

    Bloody Sunday

    The Battle of the Bogside.

These are fantastic works of art. I realise they have politicial connotations which is why I've not posted some of the more politicized and to many, offensive ones. Look past the politicial connotations if you can and judge them for the fine works of art that they are.

Thanks for the reps and the replies. General, those are really well done. Nice selection. Here's some more:

    All street art isn't Graffiti.

Viewing is, of course, only half the work. It is only consummate if you reply with your thoughts. Art is a whole activity, and you should share and engage with it-that is if you want to.

EA painting a ad on the street is lame, other street art is nice though. Some graffiti even is great art.

Downtown here has a lot of great examples, i wont take pictures and post them though, heh.

Translation: Goodbye and a safe trip home...

WTF? They messed up Cromwells face, lol. Loyalist mural obviously, no nationalist or even an apoliticial catholic would look upto Cromwell.

One of the strangest murals I've come across, Loyalists praising Cuchulainn as the first UDA man, Cuchulainn being an ancient Irish hero in Gaelic mythology who resided in Ulster... Very strange, prehaps an attempt by Loyalists to claim a connection with Ulster more than 300 years old? Interesting. :hmmm:

Okay so, there's alot of politicial stuff there. Hard not to admire some of the artwork though.
