Zip Install Error for CoH Beta

My friend really wants to play the Company of Heroes beta, but he can't seem to get it to install properly. He's downloaded twice and I even transferred my installer, which worked perfectly, to his desktop over Hamachi but still no luck. What happens is the installer gets to 99% and then presents this error:




He's tried both run winzip and just unzip, but nothing. He's sent the installer to a temp folder and a real folder, but nothing. Unchecked the two options at the bottom but still no luck.

His specs are Pentium IV 2.8 GHZ, 2 Gigs Corsair Mem, X800 GTO 256 MB. I know his processor falls .2 short but I don't see how that would affect the installer. Does anyone have any ideas?

I did post this on the Gamespy CoH technical issues forums but they are just crap. Does anyone know what a CRC error is and how he could correct it? It has to be something with his own Winzip or somethinig similar since the one I sent him worked fine for me. He's tried reinstalling Winzip as well.

Two things:
#1: Extract the .ZIP before you try to run the executable from inside it.
#2: Check the MD5 for corruption.


But given that you are running it out of TEMP I'd say it's the non-extracted ZIP.

When I'm on Windows I'll download and verify the integrity for you. Can't go wrong with that.
