    Default Becoming a vassal

i know most of the rules of vassalage, but im wondering: If i become a Vassal as Lizalfos to the Kokiri, can the betray me down the raod and stomp me out? I wanna take a more sidelines approach to the game and watch the wars and such pan out on their own, and it would be nice to have a permanent ally helping me out.

I have never been betrayed before. It's usually me doing the betraying though...

Strange. The reverse is true for me. I'm the one who usually gets back stabbed. To be more specific, there have been only two times where I was the one doing the treaty breaking.

    1. I was playing as Darknuts. The gerudo start off allied to darknuts, Darknuts are allied to both Gerudo and Zuna. The one time I betrayed the Gerudo outright was when they attacked the Zuna in the first place. So, in my defense, their attacking was not breaking the treaty I had with the GERUDO, but if I hadn't attacked the Gerudo I would have broken my treaty with the ZUNA.

On that note, it has always frustrated me in games where you can form alliances when you can't call off a war between your own allies.

    2. Playing as the Order of Wizzrobes, I had two churches outside Lanayru cities because I wanted to leave Hyrule as both a SGW ally and, if desperate times come, an untapped resource with easily converted towns. The problem was Lanayru apparently wasn't converting. At all. (I know they have high resistance, but I miss calculated at the time.) Simply put, I had no income. I was going to end up bankrupt. I had to do something, so I sent out a punitive force to seize Dodongo caverns because it had been a rebel settlement. I had kept my Diplomat in goron territory since I couldn't convert them, so I wanted to be on their good side instead. So there was no KOH in Goron territory at all. . . one turn away from my bankruptcy and my forces arriving to siege the caverns, a magically appearing force of the KOH appears and screws me over. I have two choicesie off or attack the sieging forces and make an enemy of my friend. Suffice to say, I couldn't use my diplomat to solve things peacefully.

    Arise, my army!

Hmm, so if your a vassal to someone, then that someone wont betray you? i know if someone ELSE is your Vassal, they will eventually rebel based on your rep, military, and factions Leaders stats.

Actually, I should clarify that I was talking about alliances, not vassalage. Please forgive me for my incompeten- *force choking sounds*

Anyways, to be honest it depends heavily on the A.I. which can be very unpredictable. I can't speak about vassalage because it has not occurred in ANY of my campaigns.

Just remember that there are two A.I.'s, military and diplomatic, working at the same time in a CPU faction, which may account for some double-mindedness.

    Arise, my army!

Yeah, ive noticed that. If you wanna stop a war and one army is obstinate about it, simply send diplomats to other units, and sometimes if your lucky, you'll get one that wants peace, or at least is willing to debate it.

i am also currently a vassal as the lizalfos to the kokiri, as i seek to attack the death mountain range moving through deku controlled lands, and i see no down side, but ive read that the vassal has to pay half their income to the suzerain faction, is this true?, i dont believe it is indicated on the financial panel.

yeah, if you are a Vassal, half of your income goes to the faction who pretty much ownes you.I was mainly wondering if you are a vassal, if the faction you are serving will eventually turn around and backstab you. Doesnt make sense, seeing as you are getting a ton of money from you

I can confirm that it does happen frequently in vanilla. Not sure if Neph changed this in the mod, though.
