I put this answer down for an interview that didn't get released but I could just aswell share it here:

I like very immersive screenshots, when it's "magical" or just captive. I like when it doesn't look like a shot from a video game but rather a photo, screen from a movie or CGI cinematic. I also like cool angles, beautiful nature or landscapes and capturing emotion or feelings. And I have a soft spot for Lord of the Rings.

Might be a bit premature here but POTY 2018 was a blast, yet I can't help but feel that POTY 2019 is going to eclipse it by some margin. The quality here has been nothing short of amazing.

@Caligula Here's my response:

• Level of editing as compared to the original - This is what I always look for first, though it is not always easy to tell. One thing I am not a fan of, however, is over-editing.
• The amount of "flashy stuff" in the picture - I love bright lights, contrasting colors, and a vibrant setting. I find that those details draw me in easily.
• Significance - They say a picture is worth a thousand words, and I like those that allow me to conjure up a story behind what is going on in the screenshot.
• Graphics - I do not expect much from a graphical standpoint, as I know some of the games might be older, and I myself play many such games. However if the distinction between some photos are too huge, I cannot in good conscience place the photo with older graphics on the same level as one with polished, updated graphics.
• Landscape shots - With all that goes on in games, sometimes we do not stop to appreciate the beauty of the in-game world itself. I have always preferred the tranquility and beauty of shots of the landscape or environment, as opposed to combat intensive shots, though not by much!

I just finished the speech, and it's going to be a big night for her, which has taken a lot of time. I think we're 90ish people, so a lot of food has been made.

No doubt about that, TWS! I see a 3K screenshot, the first in the POTWs! It's so darn hard to choose nowadays. Funny thing is - I think I outdid myself this week, (unless I've read the results wrong) I got piped to 1st in both UESW (you guys, gave my pixellated photo more credit than it was worth )and POTW by 1 vote, and I voted for both of them But that I think is also another rewarding part - seeing the submissions you think are most worthy winning

Hmm... Speaking about the latest POTW and GPOTW contests, I want to note the increased number of screens and the noticeable improvement in the quality of the works presented by the participants. I agree that the choice is becoming more difficult. But damn, that's cool! The more works submitted, the more relevant and interesting these contests will be. Need something to attract people. Swaeft and I want to have a little "naval battle" in this POTW. No matter which one of us drowns which one, but I think that such an ideas can attract attention. If you, of course, not afraid of competition in the form of new participants.)

By the way, who can tell what kind of song is playing in the naxzul video in VOTM 71? I mean in the first part of the video. I would be very grateful if someone could tell me.

Aye, the number of submissions have gone up and up in the past few weeks, I think a lot of people will have a hard time reaching for medals now. While it means more work for me, I'm happy for it as I can go ahead and look at more beautiful shots
