Icon5 Questions about Using the Assembly Kit to make a new unit for a faction?

I was following this tutorial How to create a custom unit in Pack File Manager And...

    • I think I can get as far as the new unit to show up for the faction I am modding them for, however the new unit is taking over the Original Faction's Ashigaru Bow Slot Which is not what I wanted since the new unit is supposed to be capped at 3, have it's own Unit Slot, longer ranged Arrows and a ammo count of 40 instead of 20.

    • Also I am not able to find the unit.loc using the Assembly Kit.

    • I have made the forementioned Longer ranged Arrows to have a spread of 2, They are also slower then default Arrows at 35 instead of 45, max range is Still being worked out but for testing I have the new Arrows set to 300, with a min range of 10.
I have made the unit to use the new Arrow I think... I will Post the Files if needed...

What you have todo, is change the unit key, For example, I use "bef_Inf_Missile_Napoleons_Rangers". Creates a new unit.

P.S you have to add a record. You can't just use the same record.

i think i understand what you mean by record
i used Inf_Missile_Bow_Ashigaru as a base and renamed the copy to Inf_Missile_Bow_Ashigaru_High

is that what you meant by record?

No at the top you'll see, "Add Record" "Remove Record" and "Apply". You want to hit "Add Record", this Starts a Fresh slate for you to make a new unit. But you have to rename the key, and the screen name(What your unit name is.) I don't use the Assembly kit, because it's far to hard and confusing to use.

P.S Try using the PFM, it's alot easier to use, except for editing uniforms. I'm still stuck on fiquring out how to edit uniforms.

The units.loc is a part of the units table in TWeak . However you need to find it under "text" in under working data in BOB when you create your mod.
