Default delete carthaginian homeland and governments?

Hey, I've only just started playing EB as the Romani and I was wondering wether I should destroy local government types and homelands and replace them with the romans' gov types when i conquer new territory or if there is an advantage in keeping other culture's buildings. and What about other religious buildings? should i replace them too?

Yes CarlXII, there is no need to keep local government types. Keeping them will give you none of your faction's unique buildings or units. Sell them and their barracks, because if the city is retaken they could possibly use those against you. Religious buildings can be kept. You will eventually be able build your own temple equivalent of that god. It also gives a public order bonus, which is good for newly conquered regions. Leave wonders alone too, unless you are a total domination player that likes to start from tabula rasa (blank state).

thanks. If i keep the religious buildings, won't they increase the unhappiness of the population because of the cultural difference? won't my religious buildings convert them?

I think the only significant cultural difference is caused by the palace. I often leave old temples standing because they can have interesting bonuses. But if you are role-playing Rome, you might gradually replace temples with your own.

Normally, I destroy only enemy governments and barracks, and leave everything else intact. But in the case of the city of Carthage itself, in the Third Punic War Rome hated Carthage so much that they destroyed the entire city. In this case, I exterminate the people and destroy all buildings except the wonder called 'The Port and Walls of Carthage', the monument (just so I can gloat over the fall of once-mighty Carthage in future!) and the cistern network.

I always immediately destroy enemy governments and barracks.
Temples are destroyed as soon as I can get a yellow face at low tax.
I don't touch other building, even if I don't know what their purpose is (e.g. the "Thing", the Assembly of Freemen).
