Default Does the sun affect battle performance?

So I've read about commanders deploying their armies facing away from the sun, so that the enemy, when fighting, will always have the sun in their eyes and reduce their abilities to fight effectively. Does this factor show in the game, in sunrise/sunset battles?

The sun is an effective tactic. For example, in this situation, by using the sunlight, light cavalry was able to charge directly into pikemen and rout them easily (with the help of some unrealistic battle mechanics, of course):

...however, in M2TW, the direction of sunlight has no impact on units in the game.

It has to do with his answer concerning Lord of the Rings unrealistic battles. About the thread, the answer was already given, sun changes nothing, except if it's Desert Sun, if your troops are not muslim that is.
