    Default Knights of Honor + MW II

    Anyone here played KoH? If yes then im sure u were hooked by the Deplomatic system koh used, i was just thinking that it would be awesome if mw2 had the same futures or even better Why i like the deplomatic system of koh? Well you could send a spy to other nation and if some nation hires him as a Merchan i think you could have a nice lil option were u can let the spy to take over the town and boom a new faction Keep sendin money to him and let him do all the fightin while u build ur lil empire and then take it over =) Just my thougths.

    Yes, the KoH diplomatic system is pretty good. Much better than RTW to be sure, but it could still use some work.

    I only vaguely remember playing a demo of KoH. Thought it was ok. Was a few years ago now... I think.

    I haven't experienced what you are saying about the spy and such, but that really sounds good. Though I doubt we will see a TW game where we can just send spies to take over cities. TW just has a different focus than KoH, namely big nasty (and hopefully in TW3 AND 4) bloody and gory battles.

    ahh yeah I wish Medieval Total War II had the same diverse amount of factions that KoH had.

    Seems kind of unrealistic for a single outsider to so easily be able to take over a town which before had some aristocracy..

    What would be more plausible is maybe something where you have hireable mercernary captains, but you have the option to employ them as double agents, so maybe captain A secretely is hired by England, but he continues acting like he is freelance and heads to the continent where he is hired by the French. Then you have options available like having him attack a town from the inside or defecting in the middle of a battle. Nations could defend against this by using spies on them.

    @Dirty
    The spy gets hired by the king of xxxx kingdom and then places him as Merchant, Priest,Knight, etc
    in koh you hire generals to serve u and then u decide wich role they should play When u hire a spy u then appoint him to a certain nation and wait for him to be hired by the appointed nation and then if he's a Knight u could try and make a revolt where the king would lose all of his army and they go around lootin all of his land hehe If spy he could take over the town and hand it over or refuse What i think RTR laks is random nations + Deplomatic futures.. You've seen all those rebels fx Moorish rebels, Lycanian etc in rtr right? what if they played as factions? it would have been awesome you know. im not trying to say that there should be some made up factions. Sorry for my :wub:y english

    I agree that the rebel system in TW games needs some work. Im guessing a lot of the problems have to do with the same engine limitations that keep the faction # at 21. Maybe the next game will have a new engine that will correct this.

    it was barely accfeptable. the worst part of it was that princessesserved almost no purpose whatsoever except to make your hold on your own lands less secure.

    KoHes diplo is the best. I still play KoH the only thing that sucks about it is battles and lack of historical accuracy in units. Princesses do serve a purpose marrying them off increases your relations with the faction they marry into. A nation that is related to you and has an alliance is more loyal than just an allied nation. Plus the vassal system is far better than the total war protectorate system, and the reputation system..

    KoH sure has some downfalls, but the diplomacy is great. If there was only a better AI...
    And it sure had more playable factions.

    the only bad think of Koh was the battles imo, they get really repetitive after sometime, specially in late ages were alll citys are ubber advanced.

    anyway i'd love also to see that diplomacy in rtw

    Have only played the demo, but it seemed to be a poorer game than RTW, in general. I can not understand why CA can't have as many factions as KoH, MTW2 should be a superiour game in every aspect, why be fare worse in some aspects. Don't CA have more resources than whoever maks KoH?

    Knights of Honor is a great game, i still play it on occasion. Its battle system is not that great and the fact that time isn't represented is annoying. One of the reasons why i'm not looking forward to CAs idea of removing representation of time... its like taking a step backward as that is one of the things people hate in KOH.
