So long as you are playing vanilla RSII then only the save game is needed.
If you've modified any files (apart from the preferences.txt file) then you would need to include those files. However, I doubt that many people would help if you've made some of your own changes.
Generally end-turn CTDs are thought to come from running with the script on at the start then at some point running with the script off and then reverting.
That is not to say that there are no other CTDs - they do happen. One thing to do is to save often so you have some older versions of the same campaign to continue. Sometimes you will find that the AI (or you) have done something different in the campaign and the CTD happens.
I've had CTDs where even with older saves I've been forced to abandon the campaign (during beta when there were a few of us using the R:TW Alex exe).
