Can not start a campaign or do a custom battle

Hello i recently got the mod installed im on v 3.2 and i have the game on steam. the mod loads but when i choose to play the campaign it gives me a a error.''Please select a item from the list'' which there is no list can someone help?


and 2nd i can not do a custom/historic or quick battle the game will close and say ''Medieval 2 total war has incountered a unspecified error and will now exit''

That was a new issue, never heard before hehe

Right, some basic questions:

- Did you follow either of the two Steam installation guides step by step?
(seen here for instance, under the Installation box; http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=500418 )

- Did you install TATW 3.0 part 1 + 3.0 part 2 + patch 3.1 + patc 3.2?

WEll my friend told me to download it all into a file on my desktop then move it over. but im thinking it doesnt work. so i just uninstalled everything gonna reinstal the mod. by the way you just linked and see if it works then.

It's not installed correctly or some files have been edited. Have you edited any files like descr_strat or installed any submods? I got this error once before and it was because of a typo I made in the descr_strat file. lol

To install correctly follow the instructions on the link Ngugi provided, or for an alternative method you can do it like this:

First, if you're using Windows 7, 8, or Vista disable UAC. (see here) Then completely uninstall and remove any TATW related files.

Install all parts of TATW (3.0 Part 1, 3.0 Part 2, 3.1, and 3.2) to the desktop.

Then move the Third Age folder to the Steam/Steamapps/Common/Medieval II Total War/mods folder.

Then rename one of the Kingdoms campaigns to something else, like change americas to americas2.

Then rename the Third Age folder to americas. Finally, select the americas campaign from the Steam menu and the mod should launch.
