Interesting to say that while Nazir supported militants in Afghanistan he was against Al Qaeda and Pakistani Taliban. He was almost killed some weeks ago by a suicide attack. Of course the dirty secret here is that US wants to turn the tribes against the Pakistani government. Attacked by drone strikes or not militants in north Pakistan will continue to support Afghan insurgency and CIA knows that. So their goal is to make tribes more and more radical in order to force Pakistan to control them (meaning staging an even bloodier war compared to the war that has killed more than 5000 security forces)

Whatever The fact remains he supporting attacking the US in Afghanistan so I don't see the need for the long conspiracy BS. You reap what you sow... If Pakistan won't enforce it own border it can hardly whine about the results - but of course the ISI is playing a long game just like when Russia was loosing men for nothing.

Dumbest conspiracy theory so far. USA killed him because he was an enemy who wished to kill Westerners, is there any other reason necessary?.

Isn't it funny? Now, his tribe and friends wants to have revenge. His children and family want to take revenge by killing more "westerners". That's what i would do if my father is killed by an American drone too.

When this "war against terror" will finish? Never. And sooner or later, some guy whose father is killed by "Westerners" will get a nuclear bomb and real fun will start.

Nazir's faction of the Pakistan Taliban had signed a peace deal with Islamabad in 2007 and had made repeated agreements with other militant groups to focus their attacks only on Afghanistan.

He had even quarrelled with other groups over his refusal to carry out attacks inside Pakistan and to instead concentrate on fighting American and Afghan forces across the border.

Saifullah Khan Mehsud, executive director of the Fata Research Centre, said his death would anger the Pakistani military, undermining their strategy of using Nazir as a bulwark against the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) faction, led by Hakimullah Mehsud. "They will be furious," he said. "This shows they are not on the same page as the Americans."

However, other analysts said Pakistan had given up on its discredited strategy of pitting so-called Good Taliban – intent on attacking only targets in Afghanistan – against Bad Taliban.

Imtiaz Gul, an author of several books on militancy in Pakistan, said Islamabad had much to gain from Nazir's death.

"He was harbouring Arab al-Qaeda figures so he was playing a double game," he said.

Uh no? Nazir wasn't against the Pakistani Taliban, he was the a leading militant of the Pakistan Taliban.

Nazir also declared allegiance to Mullah Omar and Osama bin Laden in a written statement in an Urdu-language pamphlet.

But hey, according to Pakistan, he is "good" Taliban.
