What do you guys think of S2TW MP today?

What do you guys think of the S2TW game today MP wise? Any ideas on how it is, how it can be improved,etc.....?

Otomo dlc is being fairly annoying. Donderbuss cavalry with shotguns and those melee stats and the arrow-proof tercos.

Well, I still enjoy multiplayer. But I think that vanilla Shogun 2 is quite unbalanced (mostly due to not following realism and favoring "gameplay" wich ends up in Katana Samurai + Naginata Samurai being the most useful combination (with sometimes Nagi Warrior Monks on top of it)), adding DLC on top of it did not help (ing Tercos and Donderbuss), and FOTS made it even harder to find S2 matchs.

I wish they handled DLC in a different way, and that they improved Shogun 2 instead of making FOTS.

mmm katana + nagi sam combo isnt really a huge problem, nor is the donders and tercos which are overrated, you just need to learn how to make use of the game's interface and develop how to use multiple groups at once.

Hello,I have a question on S2 vanilla MP games. I've owned the game since release but haven't played any MP.Recently I have been interested in trying MP but when I go to battle list I can't get on any games because they say my game is "different version"and I can't join. Is everyone playing FoTS(which I don"t have) and noone playing original S2. I also don't have all DLC if that makes a difference. Appreciate any feedback on this -just would like to try MP. Maybe there are some groups out there that still play S2 if I can find them. Thanks for your time fellow sumarai.

If you are talking about MPC, yeah, most are FotS campaigns. Much better tbh, it has trains!

Multiplayer normal or multiplayer campaign? If you are talking about battle list then it says which type of avatars are allowed on the right hand side

Bit off topic by why does everyone get banned on these forums? Literally in so many of these multiplayer threads the author has been banned by the time i have discovered it.

I'm talking about battlelist and matchmade. When I last tried to do a matchmade battle I sat there for 8 minutes and never got a match. I really don't have much time to game these days and the last thing I want to do is stare at a lobby screen while I wait for a game. It must be that nobody plays anymore.

Ugh... no. I realised I couldnt get into a MP Campaign, but every other MP activity was fine.

Does it have anything to do with not having the Otomo Clan DLC? Is that why it says I have a different version? I already have FotS.

I can confirm it has nothing to do with DLC. You have the exact same files as your opponent.

The version mismatch issue comes from having some mods installed or not updating a game in a while. Uninstall/disable mods and run game cache check.
