installing probem

whenever i try to install tatw to medieval total war 2 it says i dont have permission to install the file there what do i do?

What windows do you have and are you the only user of your PC(you have Administrative rights)?

yea its windows 7 and im the only one who uses it

First, right mouse click on your MAIN M2TW folder(the one in C: Program Files(x86) \ SEGA\ ) go to Properties, Security, click on Edit, select User( your PC's name), and check boxes for FUL CONTROL and MODIFY. Click Apply, wait til it does it's job and then click OK.

After that run ALL Third Age Installers as Administrator( Right mouse click and Run as Admin.).

thank you it worked and i have installed all parts of the mod! but when i go to find the tatw folder in steam/steamapps/mods/m2tw it isnt there what should i do?

Well ,you haven`t said you are using steam, steam requires different type of installation.

Okay, try it like this:



Completely uninstall and remove any TATW related files.

Install all parts of TATW (3.0 Part 1, 3.0 Part 2, 3.1, and 3.2) to the desktop.

Then move the Third Age folder to the Steam/Steamapps/Common/Medieval II Total War/mods folder.

Then rename one of the Kingdoms campaigns to something else, like change americas to americas2.

Then rename the Third Age folder to americas. Finally, select the americas campaign from the Steam menu and the mod should launch.
