Default RTW crahses whenever i start a new campaign

So whenever i try to start a campaign in Rome: Total War Gold Edition it crashes into the desktop. I've already tried reinstalling the game but the problem still occurs. Also on the Grand Campaign menu Gaul is playable, i haven't played my copy in about a year and before that i had RTR installed. Please Help!

Have you tried uninstalling the game by first uninstalling Alex, then BI, then Rome, then delete the Rome total War folder, then run a good free registry cleaner, reboot, then reinstall?

    Logged in as Administrator?
RTW's icon set to "Run as Administrator" and "XP Compatibility"?
    UAC disabled?
