Launcher unresponsive/freezes

Hey everyone, I recently reinstalled my RTW just to try out this mod, but there seems to be a problem with the launcher. When I open it, it becomes unresponsive. I can't close it (unless I use task manager), I can't click anything, or start the game. Searched the forums for a while but couldn't find a solution to this. Can anyone help me?

- What OS do you use? Windows 7 x64

- What version of RTW do you use? 1.5 RTW, 1.6 BI, 1.9 Alexander

- Are you using steam or not? No

- Install path Tried it in program files and outside of program files, no difference

- Which launcher option have you used (exe, faction etc) Launcher doesn't work

I am the same, however, I bought the game (Rome Gold) on Steam. Did everything to the letter as stated on Moddb, created a new directory etc. No error when using the launcher, but like OP said, it just became unresponsive and continue to be that way until the music finishes, and then nothing.

- Are you using steam or not? I bought Rome total war Gold off steam so yes

- Install path. Steam install directory but i can pull it out of steam if needed

- Which launcher option have you used (exe, faction etc) iv tryed everything all options all different combos

basically im having the same problem as the people above when i install everything goes fine till i try to launch it when i do the game just freezes and the only way i can get rid of it is to ctrl-alt-delete and tryed it 50+ times is there anyone that knows what to do?

Encounterded same problem last night after several attempts gave up re installed RTW today and downloaded RS2 will just wait to see if any solution pops ups for this problem.

Same problem here, however when i have to close it with task manager, windows explorer seems to freeze up too and restarts. You guys getting that also?

Holy crap it just worked for me. I restarted computer, double clicked the roma_surrectum_2.5.exe Went to make some coffee, came back and the program was sitting there asking for permission to continue. Currently installing. I suppose the exe just takes a while to kick in. 5-10 mins?
