Default Is it possible to play over 20,000 units without lag?

Hey all, I've got a burning question: would there be a way that I could play a massive battle without lag? I'm shooting for around 30,000 total units but it lags (not an insane amount, but enough to stop being enjoyable), however lowering all the graphic settings to the lowest they can go (including lowering screen resolution) doesn't do anything; I get exactly the same amount of lag as I did on max settings.
Normally I can run this game perfectly with 10,000 or so units on the field, but after 15,000 I tend to get some lag...I'm fairly certain my computer could handle it; is it just the game? If so, is there a fix for it? Thanks!

It's an old game so it has it's quirks, especially on new computers. Your PC is very nice, but M2TW won't take advantage of all that. For example, it doesn't support multi-core processors, so it's only using one of those cores.

Maybe GameBooster could help you a bit.
American, French, Israeli and British government's ILLEGAL aggression against the Syrian people, without any proof for chemical attacks in Douma, and without waiting for OPCW to conduct their investigation..
Sons of *******, leave that poor, war torn country in peace.
If you are a citizen of one of these countries, then DO NOT ask any help from me on these forums, since, in protest against this aggression by your governments, I do not provide assistance/help anymore.
Let Syria be finally in peace.

A video of false chemical attack in Douma, Syria, which led to Western illegal attacks.
