Money Problems

Sorry if this has already been posted.. I couldnt find it, But anyway in the game im having serious problems in making money. I dont really have a large army and i have lots of towns and citys. Im the High Elves, Im usually really good at making money with the other total war games but im struggling big time on this one

Could anyone give me any tips?

Build up your economy from the beginning; roads and farms, do not build markets since their output is so low it's a long term investment.

Keep low tax rates to make the population grow - since more population soon equal more tax income.

Move the capital from Imladris to the havens. It cost 5000 but you earn ca +1000 each turn from less corruption, so it's soon compensated. I usually do this turn 2 after done my initial building and recrutment.

Remember that units cost money, try to have small forces and be carefull with them in battle. Since HE troops are so good, especially make use of the archers, that should be easy.

Generals cost a lot of money, don't adopt unless it's a really good one.

Ahh cheers dude i think thats where im going wrong then.. Im quite far in the game and have 20 provinces and 28 Generals.. But im also in -60,000 in funds now

so im best off starting again. Thanks Again.

You got way too many generals then. Don't accept adoption candidates, unless you need them right away, lost some guys or are exceptionally good. Each turn you pay them a wage and upkeep for their bodyguard units. Too many generals is the main reason people start to go broke here.

Just as a habit from all games, i dont accept adoptions at all. I prefer to keep the bloodline pure, with a few princess lured generals but thats a SS feature.

some guys accepts all of them really wrong choice about ur economy,100% agree
