Default Good Mods for Steam Users?

    I'm having 3 Issues....

    1) Finding a good mod that suits my likes/dislikes.

Ultimately, I like anything that expands on the game, but.. Doesnt make it un realistically harder.

    -New Factions
-New Territories, but not a new map
    -New Units
    -Better Diplomacy
-And any other tid bits here and there.

    ------------------------
I've heard about SS, but from the discussion on it and the post, it seems to make the game unreasonably harder. I'm not saying I dont like a challenge, I love a challenge. I just like it to be realistic as well. (Where the AI wont fight me tooth and nail 24/7).

    2) My Old mods I used to like dont seem to work with the Steam version of M2, and Kingdoms. Primarily the Custom Campaign Mod 2

    3) Finding mods that suit my likes/dislikes above while still working with the Steam version of the game. I tried Real Combat mod, which didnt work, and the Reality Mod..

If anyone could help me find a suitable mod that fancy's my likes/dislikes while still working with the steam version of the game, I'd highly appreciate it <3

Edit: Doesnt look like you can edit >.<;; the Bolded text are the 2 things I'm really aiming for. But anything that expands on the game is definetly a + to me.

Stainless Steel isn't that hard, trying lower settings and not chosing SS's hardest AI should still give you a bigger challenge than vanilla. What so you mean with "no new map"? SS has a new map, it's larger and has more regions but it mainly covers vanilla's map area. You could also try Kingdoms Grand Campaign Mod, it adds the kingdoms factions and adds some regions but it's still largely like vanilla.

What I meant by no new map, is simply not one that has an entirely diff section of Europe, or cuts Europe down into sections. I wanted a map which simply covers what the vanilla games does, just with more provinces.

Kingdoms Grand Campaign Mod has the same map as vanilla, but adds a lot of provinces and units, I believe this is what you are looking for.

Make sure you have the Kingdoms Launcher to add them and also to update the M2 launcher (see: http://forums.steampowered.com/forum....php?t=2500705).

    1. For King or Country - M2 (follow installation instructions as given. Add by using Kingdoms launcher. It works for me)
    2. La Guerre de Cent Ans - The Hundred Years War - M2
    3. Chivalry II: The Sicilian Vespers - Kingdoms (follow installation instructions as given)
    4. Rule Britannia (RB)
    5. 1648 (if you like 30 years war mods. Although it's not really finished yet, it's beta works)
    6. With Fire & Sword (another 30 years war mod, if can read Russian. It does have a limited English patch, but the patch may have be responsible for ctds)
    7. Stainless Steel (forget what you've heard, this is good one. the economies are well balanced. The difficulty are these sudden events, like William Wallace popping up, but they a nice flavor to the game)
    8. Bellum Crucis 6.3 (A Spanish mod. Very nicely done. Let the computer manage your economy or you'll go bankrupt in the first few turns)

Chivalry II: Sicilian Vespers is a kingdoms mod that is compatible with Steam. I think with any mod you're going to have to finagle a bit with steam to register it properly. It is basically the European campaign. The Map is recognizable to the original game, but with added regions and what not. There's a handful of new factions as well. It's not hugely difficult, but adds a lot of historical items into it to give the player a more in depth game. I'd suggest trying it out.

    Feel free to add me.

Actually, not so much. It was when I thought I had to finagle it a bit that got me into trouble. Once I simply installed it using their installation instructions it worked fine.

SS can be made easier, you should also know that many people are playing with BRG enabled which is a sumod that really takes difficulity to a new level for the player while keeping AI free of those extra rules. You can just play on the balanced(forgot name) AI with meduim difficulity, add in the wekened heretics submod and you have yourself a campaign that is not that hard, only issue might be getting enough population for citadels/huge cities, but you can fix that too, or just cheat a bit to add pop needed.

You can give Broken Crescent a shot, its a great mod which focuses on middle east, so you will have a new map, but its kind of like having the crusades expansion map streched north and east a lot.

I dont know about how they work with steam trough.

Correction on last - Bellum Crucis 6.3 is, I believe, an Italian mod.

So Can I actually have several mods with this new launcher? And just choose to play which one I want?

Yup, you don't even have to edit original Kingdoms campaigns to play the mods if you add them to the launcher with Squid's tool, any M2TW mod with a modfolder name without spaces will work without a problem, the ones with spaces will have to be edited but that isn't exactly the biggest work ever.
