Turtle Challenge

Hey Everyone,

So I'm about to finish my blitz game with the turks and I was wondering what challenge I could do next. Since I copped a bit of flak from whiney people saying that any old twit could blitz and that true players turtle their way through the game, I thought of the hardest turtling challenge and decided to do it.

I'm going to give the entire developed map to the timurids and leave myself with 1 of the worst positioned provinces and take them all back on VH/VH. I'll also give them all my money and disband all my armies. So basically start fresh and beat them. Since I'll have the whole map soon, I'll have about 150 turns to develop everything before they arrive.

I'll make a video on it, but in no way is it going to show every move i make because my hard drives would choke from the hundreds of hours of footage.

Sound like a good challenge? Any one else want to try it?

I've been trying to turtle recently, but nothing of this scale, good luck and watch out for the cannon elephants.

There's a wonderful AAR by somebody who tried to recreate the County of Edessa using Sicily. He sold off his Italian lands to Byzantium & managed to defeat the Mongols & the Timurrids too.

I remember trying something like this a few years ago. I conquered the whole map with England, gave the Timurrids Asia and sat back to turtle at Yerevan, Gaza and Constantinople. Within a few turns, I lost Africa and was struggling to hold out against the hordes of Ellies they were raising from thin air. Turns out that Timurrid armies are upkeep-free

how bout this for a challenge as an island nation (scotland england etc) or a nation that controls small mainland territories. Give the AI on very hard 200 or so turns before expanding past your land as a british faction you can conquer whole. Could be done on a peninsula.

The problem with that is the computer is stupid. 200 turns and they probably won't get that much stronger. They'll just fight amongst themselves and maybe 3-6 will get eliminated.
